About Me
Hi I am Shanna, I am 24 years old and living in Aberdeen. I graduated Grays school of art in 2023 and have been working as a full time artist ever since. I am calm, patient and creative. I love to cook and have a lot of experience looking after children. I am half Scottish and half Argentinian, I grew up half my childhood on the Isle of Mull, Tobermory (Balamory if you have ever watched the show!) and half in a small town in Buenos Aires called Guernica. Ever since I was little Ive always known I want to be a parent and it is my biggest life goal once I am ready to do so. I am an animal lover and grew up with many pets and currently have 2 dogs and a parrot so I am comfortable looking after animals too.
My Experience
I have looked after my young cousins especially my cousin Dulce between the ages of 1-2years while her mum was at work. I did bathtime, changing, reading her books, playing together.
I have done many different babysitting jobs while living on the Isle of Mull for kids between the ages of 6 and 13. Including a regular job i had every week 2 times a week i would watch two kids ages 8 and 12 after school for 4 hours. I would do creative activities with the youngest and help them with after school snacks. I worked for that family for 2 years.
I also babysat for a girl with disabilities whenever i was needed over a period of 3 years, age (8-11). It was always bedtime that I was needed for and I read to her and would settle her to sleep and change her nappy if needed.
I took care of my ex-partners kids often between the ages of 7-12 I did the cooking, helped with homework, did fun craft activities and cooking activities.
I volunteered as a primary school assistant while at university in 2022-2023 where I worked with p3-4 at kingsford primary school. I helped pupils with reading, asked them questions about the book and offered 1:1 support to any pupils needing extra help.
My Qualifications
I have a bachelors degree in contemporary art practice from grays school of art.
My Availability
I am an artist so I make my own hours and have one shift a week on the weekends at a cafe. Could potentially do overnights occasionally when I have arranged care for my dogs.
