My Summary
About Me
My name is Jacqueline and I own and run Wild Child Childminding by Jacqueline since 2007. I'm a fully qualified childminder and Forest Kindergarten practitioner based in Denny, Stirlingshire.
I offer child minding to parents in the local areas of Denny, Dunipace, Head of Muir and Bonnybridge and further afield as required (e.g. Stirling, Falkirk). NOW AN OFFICIAL PARTNER PROVIDER OF FALKIRK COUNCIL, PROVIDING FUNDED EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE PLACES.
I have a dedicated playroom that is designed to provide a Hygge approach and simulate natural curiosity within the children with the toys and treasure I provide. I have a keen passion for the outdoors and at every opportunity enjoy taking the child minding children on outdoor adventures to explore their environment and meet with another Forest Kindergarten trained childminder to allow us to use all our skills to give the children the best outdoor experiences possible.
It is my firm belief that each child is an individual in their own right and should be allowed to express themselves in a fun, child-centred environment. I implement Loose Parts Play with The Curiosity Approach mixed with traditional play. I create the opportunity and environment to nurture a child's incredible imagination to help a child's creativity to think...not what to think.
My Experience
Over the last 30 years, I have gained plenty of experience in childcare, not only from being a mother, but in a professional capacity as well.
I have been a childminder for 16 years now, during which I've looked after children of a variety of ages and stages from 6 weeks old to teenagers.
I have also had previous experience working as a nanny in America looking after 3 toddlers; and in Italy nannying for a new born baby. Beyond this I have previously been employed as a nursery assistant for a community nursery. I was also the founder and leader of a community toddler group.
I also have a professional qualification related specifically to childcare provision (SVQ3 in Social Care Children and young people). Forest Kindergarten trained (SCQF Level 7)

Jacqueline has been looking after my daughter since she turned 3 and she is now almost 10. She absolutely loves the time she spends there and I have total piece of mind that my daughter is being very well looked after. Jacqueline puts so much effort into creating a range of activities and trips for the children that are fun and engaging - particularly during the school holidays. The children are regularly given the opportunity to make suggestions and influence the activities so they really feel they have a voice.
Before coming to Jacqueline my daughter was only looked after by myself or family in her home environment and she really struggled to cope with new situations. Finding suitable childcare was a big deal, I knew that a private nursery environment would not suit her and we were very lucky to find Jacqueline who lived in the same street. I was so worried before she started but from the first day Amy was so settled and happy - I couldn't believe it! Being in Jacqueline's care allowed her to gain social confidence and experience so many learning opportunities while having the support and attention she needed.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Jacqueline to anyone looking for a professional, reliable and nurturing childcare provider.
My 8 year old son has been going to Jacqueline for over 7 years now and my 6 year old daughter for 5 years. I have never had one day of worry dropping them off as have absolute confidence in the care and attention they will receive. When I hear about other childminders I feel very fortunate to have Jacqueline as she is constantly looking for ways to keep all her children, of all ages, interested and happy. The range of activities they do is really quite astounding - always something a little different and always fun. Without my children even realising it, they are also learning and developing all the time - topics such as stranger danger, road safety, fire safety etc - all of these crucial learnings are delivered in a way they can relate to and enjoy. Every season and all annual events are covered - for example at Christmas time there is A LOT of fun with the two mischievous elves and spring has seen them grow butterflies from caterpillars. The children are continually encouraged to make suggestions and get involved. Jacqueline also regularly attends training courses to keep her own skills and knowledge fully up-to-date. In summary, I cannot recommend Jacqueline any higher - children receive first class care in a safe, happy environment with their own self-development and wellbeing at the heart of it all.
