My Summary
About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder and have been since January 2012. As well as completing the basic necessary training to become a Childminder, I also took on additional training and went on to pass a level 3 Diploma in childcare.
The department of food standards agency also awarded my setting a level 5 certificate (top rating) in food hygiene during all three of my inspections.
For many years I worked as a Civil Servant in a local office, I decided to give up my office job in order to spend more time with my own children. I managed to help all of my own children reach the standard that was required to pass the 11+ even though one of them has dyslexia. Anyone who has tried to help their child or children through this process will know how hard this is and how much understanding and patience is needed. I believe this demonstrates some of my qualities.
In my spare time I like to run, I have been a member of UTS running club for five years.
My husband Mike was a dark room technician until he was made redundant, he now works at Arrowe Park hospital. Mike also likes to run in his spare time, he joined UTS running club two years ago.
I enjoy being with children and feel very blessed that I now have the opportunity to work with them. I like to offer plenty of praise regardless of whether a child can do a task or not. It's very important to praise a child for their attempts as this will help install confidence and give them an incentive to keep trying. I also offer plenty of cuddles, I try to establish a bond as quick as possible to help the children settle and enjoy their time here.
I have many different resources for the little ones to enjoy while they are here and I have a fairly large garden for them to play in. We have song and story time and enjoy lots of different activities and games.
I usually attend a few different toddler groups each week and try to get out in the fresh air as often as possible. I am a member of Chester Zoo and love to take the little ones there to see the animals.
I can only promise that I will commit myself fully to giving your child the best guidance and support that I am able to offer, in order for them to develop to their full potential and to be as happy as they possibly can while they are here.
We currently have two small dogs called Millie and Marty. The dogs are very friendly but are kept separate from the children.

Debbie was recommended to me by a family member when I was searching for a childminder. I am so glad we found her. I was quite apprehensive returning to work and leaving our daughter following an extended maternity leave, but there was no need to be. Following a settling in session, I knew we had made the right decision in choosing Debbie, she walked in and didn't look back :)
She has been with Debbie for some time now, and we are always pleasantly surprised at the places they go to - toddler groups, parks and even Chester Zoo.
She is kind, flexible, and warming. It never feels like you are asking too much and she's always willing to help.
We receive daily updates on what she has been up to during the day which are always reassuring and lovely to see photos of her enjoying her day.
Debbie always goes above and beyond in her job as a childminder, for example - she has been willing to learn Welsh (my first language) on her own accord so that she is able to learn alongside my daughter, something which I am extremely appreciative of.
It's a wonderful feeling to know that she is completely safe and cared for in Debbie’s setting. We could not recommend Debbie enough - thanks for all that you've done and continue to do, Deb x

Deb is a fantastic childminder and we're so lucky to have found her! She is flexible, warm and our daughter loves her. They go to playgroups, parks, play centres and even the zoo which is absolutely fantastic for the children. On top of this, Deb has a lovely home with plenty of toys and activities for the children to play indoors, and a spacious garden to play outside in the warmer months. We get regular updates and photos of what our daughter has been up to and what meals she has had that day - which are all nutritious and look delicious! We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful, caring and experienced childminder to look after our daughter!

Thank you for the lovely review Lauren 🥰
Deb has been looking after our daughter since April 2022 (at 12 months old) and I can honestly say that we're so happy that we chose her.
Our daughter absolutely loves going and has a truly lovely bond with her. Going back to work after a baby and finding a childcare provider can be very stressful but we knew instantly we had made the right decision.
The days are full of fun packed activities, toddler groups, zoo outings, walks in the fresh air and lots more. There are also loads of toys, books and activities to keep her entertained indoors.
Meals are always lovely, nutritious and well balanced. Our daughter is dairy free which is well catered for.
We are kept up to date daily with lovely photos of the many activities they get up to through the day.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Debbie to anyone looking for childcare. She is a lovely, warm and caring person and that shines through in how much the children love spending time with her.

Thanks for the lovely review Nat. 🥰
Debbie has been looking after my daughter from the age of 9 months old - I was so nervous to leave her in any form of childcare. I was instantly put at ease when I met Debbie, she has a lovely, calm and nurturing presence. My daughter warmed to her instantly. The children enjoy wonderful days out, play time together and nutritious food. Debbie sends plenty of pictures each day and is always easily contactable throughout the day.
My daughter has come on leaps and bounds with Debbie in her speech and social interaction with other toddlers in particular. She is always excited to see Debbie, she loves telling me about her activities of the day and the other children she spends her days with. Debbie is really warm and caring towards my daughter and I feel fully confident that she is completely safe and loved in Debbie’s care. I truly couldn’t recommend Debbie enough - thanks for all that you do Deb!

Thank you so much for such a lovely review Mimi. It really does make my job so much easier when I have a lovely parent and a lovely little girl to communicate with xx
Deb has looked after our boys (2 & 4) for the last 6 months, and we are so happy that we found her. The boys love every minute that they spend with her, and always ask when they'll next be going back. My youngest is a bit nervous with new people after so many lockdowns etc, but he settled almost immediately with Deb, running in without a second glance! I have been so impressed by how many adventures she takes the children she looks after on - they are always out and about exploring the local area and nature spots, having fun in new parks and going to farms etc. At her home, there are loads of activities and toys for the boys to play with, and a lovely garden too. We loved receiving photos of what the boys had been up to during the day, and also really appreciated how flexible Deb was with our needs, fitting in an extra day at late notice if she was able to for example. I have already recommended Deb to friends and family, she's simply brilliant and even though my eldest has now started school, he is already asking when he can go back in the holidays!

Thank you Laura, it was a pleasure looking after your lovely boys. I'm looking forward to seeing them again during the holidays. 😊
Deb is a fantastic childminder, both my girls adore her.
My youngest (currently 11months old) has only recently joined Deb and she has settled in very easily. Deb goes above and beyond to look after all the children in her care and support us as parents.
Although my eldest has left, she often talks very fondly about Deb, her friends she made while there and all of the fun and adventures they have had together.
It is very reassuring to know I have happy girls while I am out working for them 🥰

Deb provided childcare for my daughter from when she was seven months old to four years old. Being nervous about leaving my child at such a young age, Deb was fantastic and Penny soon settled in well. She would always come home with lots of stories about what she had done that day, or where she had been, and that Debs lasagna is the best! Deb also provided lots of photos and diary notes which was fantastic, and Penny loved spending time with Debs daughter and family as well.
Penny was very sad to be going to primary school and not to Debs anymore, and has asked if she can visit when the nasty virus has gone away.

Response by Deborah on 18/10/2020:
Thank you Jayne, It's always easier when the children I look after are so lovely. I miss Penny so much, I hope she settles well in primary school xx
Debs is amazing.
My 3 yo. daughter has been with her for over six months and loves her. During lockdown she has said that she doesn't like nursery but has repeatedly said that she misses Debs. She'll be really excited to go back.
Debs looks after my child for two full days a week from 7:30am to 6pm. She's very fair and understanding of working with my family and around our jobs. She's even been lovely chatting with and engaging my 13 yo. daughter. Returning from lockdown we are so happy with Deb's service that we will put our child to her full time.
Debs is really professional and caring. She provides a high quality of personalised and responsive care for my child. She's extremely thorough at following up with paperwork and explaining to us how to get the maximum funding for council/government childcare support. She's very prepared and diligent with working to Coronavirus restrictions.
I find it dizzying just how many different activities she does with my daughter. I would be exhausted trying to do all the things she does easily. She is giving my child opportunities to explore and become confident with a wide range of environments.
We get lots and lots of photos from every day she is with Debs and she is always available to chat when we have a question.
She's brilliant at what she does and I highly recommend her.

Thank you for the lovely review Louise, I really appreciate it.
I have known Debbie for 6 years now. She first looked after my nephews, then my son and now my daughter Anna. Debbie is an outstanding childminder, she goes above and beyond to accommodate every situation always ensuring the children's needs come first. There has been several occasions over the years when something unexpected has come up and i've needed additional help with childcare, Debbie has never once refused to help, she is reliable, dependable and incredibly conscientious.
Most importantly though, my daughter thoroughly enjoys going to Debbie's setting, Anna bounces through the door every morning excitedly wondering what the day will bring. Then returns home exhausted but very happy!
I honestly couldn't recommend Debbie enough; she's thoughtful, genuine and someone I trust implicitly with my children.

I have known Debbie for nearly 4 years and during this time she has been looking after my daughter, Tiyani, who is turning 4 next week. I couldn't have asked for a nicer person to look after Tiyani. From day one the two of them clicked and got on very well. Even when we're on holiday or over the weekend, Tiyani will ask for Debbie. As a single mother, Debbie has been both Tiyani's childminder and a friend to me. She has supported me when I was stranded for childcare outside of the contracted hours.
Children at Debbie's enjoy lots of activities indoors and outdoors. She takes children out to different toddler groups, parks, the zoo, etc. Debbie's house is very homely and clean. My daughter has been getting EYFS education from Debbie.
Debbie provides a balanced diet for the children that includes fruit and veg. My daughter is a fussy eater, but due to Debbie's patience and clam approach, she actually tries to eat fruit and veg which she never touches at home. I feel very lucky to have found Debbie to look after Tiyani and couldn't recommend her highly enough.
Mike, Debbie's husband sometime assists as well and he is also lovely person and my daughter likes him too.
I don't to intend on having more kids ; I'm too old :), but if I did Debbie would definitely be my 1st choice!
Thanks Debbie xxxx
