About Me
Hi, Welcome to 'Angie's Childcare'.
I am a Registered Childminder in Churchdown and I am married with 2 grown up children and a granddaughter therefore I understand the importance of having happy, confident children.
I have been a childminder for over 20 years.
We have a 4 year old Golden Retriever who thinks all the children have come to play with her. She sits on the stairs each morning looking out of the window waiting for her ‘friends’ to arrive and greats them with her toy! This is a great opportunity for children to learn about caring for animals especially for those who don’t have pets or are nervous. She is never left alone with the children. The children are encouraged to be calm around her.
I live just off Innsworth Lane not far from the Hare & Hounds traffic lights so I am in easy reach of both Cheltenham and Gloucester.
I am also a 5/10 minute drive from Longlevens, Longford and Innsworth .
I have a calm, relaxed nature inspired playroom within the house where we have little table, chairs and units all at child height so they can choose themselves what to play with, making them little independent people. There are many natural open-ended resources which allows children to use their imagination.
I have an enclosed rear garden with a deep tuff tray, logs and tyres for balancing and wooden playhouse, but we do prefer to visit local woods where we can explore a lot more.
Inside we do many fun things like art and craft (messy time!), singing, instruments and dancing, storytime, role play plus many more activities. We visit the community - park, shops, library on a regular basis along with trips to places like Slimbridge, Crickley Hill, Hatherley Park, Newent Lake and Barnwood Arboretum.
I am open between 8am and 5.30pm Monday - Thursday.
I take 5 weeks annual leave plus an additional 1 week between Christmas and New Year.
My Experience
I've been a Registered Childminder since July 2003 and in my last inspection (January 2019, I received a 'Good' outcome).
I have looked after children ranging from 4 months to 13 years. Some are siblings, some second, third and even fourth in the family and some being a first child.

I attend training sessions to keep up to date on any relevant issues connected to Childminding and complete online courses and training sessions.
I have just completed the ‘Hygge in the Early Years Accreditation’ and am currently studying for a diploma in Hygge - Scandinavia’s relaxed homely way of living within the home and I am incorporating it into the setting too.
I have also completed the Wanderlust Child Nature Study Accreditation and am slowly implementing more nature into both the inside and outside of the setting.

An unexpected vacancy has arisen on a Monday and Tuesday for 1 child age 9 months plus.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
£60 per day - 8am - 5.30pm.
If you require different hours please message me to discuss your requirements as this may be accommodated.
All healthy home cooked meals and snacks are included with the exception of formula milk.
£100 deposit is required at time of holding a place which will be deducted from your last months invoice prior to leaving providing the correct notice has been given.
If a space is available but you don’t wish to use it straight away, half fees will be required to hold this space for you until you wish to take it up.
