Registered childminder working with my son Liam we are rated OUTSTANDING August 2022.. Fully qualified with a NVQ level 3 in childcare and a Diploma of higher education in Support Learning and Development. I have chartered educator status which helps the children with their learning and development.
I have completed part 1,2,3 & 4 in Makaton I now implement these new signs i have learnt with all children in my care.
I registered as a childminder in 2004 and I cater for children from 5 months of age.
Known as Joanne's Daycare. I offer a home from home environment in my family home in ORRELL PARK for children of all ages I also have a cabin which is situated at the end of my garden, this is a play room for the children to use as well as using my house.
I am married to Steven for 30 years, we have 2 boys (29 and 23)
My youngest son Liam works alongside me as my assistant.. he has paediatric first aid, safeguarding training, speech and language training and also got his food safety certificate.
Children are cared for in a family environment.
The children socialise with other children throughout the day whilst attending drop in sessions with local childminders, toddler group’s, soft play area's. In the school holiday we go on outings to the beach, museums, farms, ferry, parks, there is absolutely loads of different places we visit..
The children enjoy free play with lots of activities on offer eg, games, puzzles, paint, lego, dolls, prams, cars, garages, reading and lots of creative activities too etc etc.....
The children are encouraged to be independent in my care.. all personal care is encouraged Eg, toileting, washing hands, putting coats on, zipping coats up etc..
I also encourage the children to share, take turns, tidy up after themselves and using their manners, please, thank you, pardon me, excuse me. Also to be respectful when out in the community when visiting toddler groups, soft play or any outing that we venture on.
This is all part of growing up, being a good role model can instill a good starting point in a young child's life.
Experience of children with allergies eg... diary, egg and nut allergies.
I have a 7 seater car which I ferry the children about in, appropriate car seats available for different age groups.
Both myself and Liam have business insurance for our cars which enables us to take the children out.
I am fully insured and a registered childminder. I can take any childcare vouchers, if I am not enrolled with the voucher scheme you have I shall enroll with them.
I have an open door policy, you can visit my setting anytime. As I would like you to feel comfortable of where you might be sending your child or children.

My Experience
I am fully qualified with a NVQ level 3 in childcare learning and development, diploma of higher education and chartered educator status along with numerous training courses Eg, Paediatric first aid, Safeguarding and Makaton training along with many more course I've attended.. my son who works alongside me has paediatric first aid, safeguarding, food hygiene, managing children’s behaviour and SEN training.
I do feel the best qualifications I have is being a mum myself, I have 2 grown up boys which I feel meets the criteria of being a registered childminder and also worked as a babysitter with a babysitting agency.
My Qualifications
I have an NVQ level 3 in childcare learning and development and a diploma of higher education in learning development and support (equivalent to a NVQ level 4/5 in childcare).
I also have chartered educator training.

Joanne and Liam are truly outstanding childminders who provide a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Our daughter has been with Joanne and Liam for over a year now, since she was 11 months old and we could not fault their care! I was a very anxious parent when first leaving my daughter due to an awful experience at a nursery but Joanne listened to my concerns and talked me through her policies and procedures and answered any questions I had. To begin with we had lots of updates via WhatsApp about our daughter to ease any anxieties and now fast forward over 12 months I can still contact Joanne at any time of the day and receive photos and updates. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds with Joanne and Liam and actually cries when we pick her back up after spending the day in their care. Joanne has never once broken any promise she has made to us and I can fully trust that my child is being looked after and cared for just as she would be at home. Joanne has always been open and honest with us too about any concerns or issues she has which reiterates her trustworthiness. We provide our own packed lunch as this is Joanne’s policy, which she fully explained when first visiting, and works perfectly for us as we are able to provide our child’s favourite foods that we know they will eat. She attends several different toddler groups a week and makes regular trips to parks, soft plays and adventure parks. Overall, we genuinely don’t know what we would do without the care and support both Joanne and Liam offer not only to our daughter but also us as a family as our daughter loves them just as much as we do! Worst daycare! She gets her 23 year old son to do all the work for her whilst she sits on her phone all day and I witnessed this during my first visit. She makes lots of promises and sells you dreams at the beginning and does not keep them. She doesn’t have an app or a diary to update or record your child’s progress as she says it’s expensive and too much work and tells you she would update you on what’s app but when asked she tells you that she feels under pressure and starts creating problems so she doesn’t have to do the extra work. She doesn’t do lunches so you have to bring your own and the kids come home with their lunch boxes half full. She lies about taking the kids out every day and posting pictures on Facebook but that happens once a week, if that. I’ve never dealt with such an unprofessional childminder. My son was only there for a week, he did not have a settling session and she never asked questions about him and because I was asking for updates on how he was doing every time she had him, she let us go after a week. She is lazy and very defensive when given advice on your own child! What a waste of time. I have now found an amazing childminder and definitely would not recommend her

My little girl started and she was very quiet, Joanne and Liam have encouraged her to come out of her shell and make friends and learn. The daycare itself is great and the people along with it, they are always keeping the kids active and out and about. The prices are extremely fair aswell, especially when compared to other nurseries.

My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since starting with Joanne and Liam since October. She loves spending time there and with the other children. Joanne and Liam take the children to a toddler group and often outdoors when the weather allows.
Gorgeous handmade gifts from my daughter at Christmas that brought a tear to my eye 🥲 a lovely home and purpose build out building which Joanne has set up for children of different ages. I can’t thank you both enough for the patience and care you show towards my daughter and all the other children in your care.
Joanne will post photos throughout the day of the activities the children have been up to and it makes my day at work easier 🙂

My Son adores Jo & Liam! The communication from both Jo & Liam is great, and Jo will follow up with a personal message if there is anything forgotten in the moment. He has great days indoors when the weather isn’t great and great days out at toddler group or fresh air in general. My son is 9 months Jan 2025, and since being here from November, having the other children around him has helped him become more talkative and active. At Christmas, Jo & Liam made the most adorable gifts for parents which I am so grateful for. The home environment brings comfort to us that my son is happy where he is and is getting the attention required for his development. Thank you Jo & Liam - He cannot wait to return xxx

Joanne and Liam are amazing with our little girl. They offer a home from home environment for her and she has really progressed with them. They do loads of brilliant little craft projects and I love seeing the things that she's made and brings home, especially the cakes lol. They also go out everyday to parks, soft play etc and I love seeing the pictures of her playing with the other children. Joanne is so knowledgeable and experienced and this in it's self has been a god send for me and my partner as this is our first child and neither of us had been around kids before so we've been able to get loads of great advice from her. Honestly couldn't ask for better.

I feel so lucky we found Joanne to look after our little girl Lillie. Due to Covid Lillie had never really been minded by anyone other than me and her dad, so that alongside her severe allergies had us very apprehensive about childcare which is why we chose a childminder over nursery. From day 1 Joanne has taken her allergies very seriously, we have never had a slip up and I can’t thank Joanne enough for always making us feel at ease. Lillie absolutely loves going to Joanne’s, she runs through the front door and doesn’t look back! Joanne’s assistant Liam is also great, Lillie absolutely adores him and it makes life so much easier knowing how much she loves being there. At Joanne’s they are always up to something, whether that’s toddler classes, painting and drawing, days out etc! I couldn’t recommend Joanne enough.

I am so pleased we came across Joanne whilst looking for a childminder for our son. Joanne was recommended and I've heard nothing but positive feedback from those I've spoken too about her which is rightfully so. Joanne is so down to earth and really looks after the kids like they're her own alongside her son Liam who my son loves! My son was recently very sick and I was so grateful for the level of care Joanne provided whilst waiting for me to arrive. I always feel content whilst leaving for work knowing he is in the best care and having the best time exploring and learning in her lovely garden and outhouse. Joanne regularly does lovely little art and crafts for him to bring home which are very cute and lovely to see. My boy has really grown alot since being in her care and I hope he can remain with her until he begins school nursery as he really is flourishing. Thank you SO much xxx
