My Summary
About Me
I am a home from home setting with an importance of learning through play and exploring.
We enjoy hands on learning and recently have hatched our own chicks, caterpillars, looked at all about me baskets learning where items of clothing go. Enjoyed sea life week, insects etc
I enjoy the outdoors, messy play, singing and exploring everything around us.
I’m a an ex 1:1 SEND TA at a school working with non verbal autistic children and am now a childminder.
I understand that every child learns differently and at their own pace and can accommodate this both within the EYFS.
We love the outdoors, going for walks, drawing in the mud with sticks. I very much believe in learning through play and being child led is certainly the way, however also have an understand on the EYFS framework.
We encourage independence at a child’s own rate and to explore the natural materials around them. I am happy to help with homework, reading and writing formation skills etc. Making these activities fun and engaging.
Current availability Thursday - Friday 8:45-3:30 term time only.

My Experience
I have been in childcare for 15 years and have worked with a wide range of children ranging from birth to 17.
I have worked in nurseries around Swindon and I have worked at PGL too where I specialised in Special Education groups.
I have alot of SEND experience and am always keen to learn more and frequently undertake personal development courses and reading material. I have experience with autism, adhd, attachment disorders, Aspergers etc. I am currently using BSL within the setting. I understand the needs and how to meet these needs emotionally and physically through sensory play.
I have worked in the maternity units at our local hospital and helped families initiate breastfeeding within this role. I work alongside and encourage the baby friendly initiative.
I am currently undertaking a Hygge in the early years accreditation.
