About Me

** CURRENTLY SEEKING 1 FULL DAY A WEEK, EVENING & WEEKEND BABYSITTING OR WRAP AROUND CARE **
I am honest, reliable, caring, compassionate, flexible and a good communicator. I am very creative and use my initiative. I consider myself to have a good sense of humour and a pleasant personality. I have previously been OFSTED registered and am happy to do so again if required. I have worked in a secondary school for 14 years, see below,

My Experience

Much of my working life has been spent in a caring role from caring for young children to caring for elderly people suffering from Alzheimers Disease and behavioral problems.

In 1995 I went to New York with an organisation called Au Pair in America, where I spent a year looking after 2 children. Once this contract ended I was offered employment nannying and went on to spend the next 6 years working with 2 different families as a live in nanny..

During the summer of 1999 I ran a Pre School Summer Camp for 20 Children in New York. This required a great deal of organizational skills managing staff and communication with parents.

Between 1999 and 2001 I was closely involved with running a voluntary church based kids club in New York. At the same time I was a Youth Group leader working as part of a team with adolescents from the local community.

Upon my return to the UK I worked as a Nursery Nurse then decided to return to college to study Counselling, to do so I went back into nannying which enabled me to attend college through the day. During this time I worked as a drugs outreach worker for Youth@ACT. I also volunteered one day a week at Youth Enquiry Service. In October 2006 I was placed by YES in a local secondary school to do 100 voluntary counselling hours which was compulsory as part of my training. After this time I was offered me 10 hours per week paid counselling which has since increased to 20 hours, these hours allow me to continue working as a nanny before and after school and during school holidays.
