About Me
My name is Gill, I am 53 years old and have been an Ofsted registered childcare provider for 17 years. I have 2 daughters age 21 and 20 My eldest has spread her wings and gone off to University whilst our youngest daughter is busy working and living life. We have a lovely black Labrador named Spud he is 7 years old and a big part of our family.
We offer a warm, caring and friendly home environment with a relaxed atmosphere, our aim is to have fun and learn as we play. We have a playroom with a good selection of toys, dressing up, construction, books, jigsaws and lots more for the children to play and enjoy. We spend time baking, arts/ crafts and other hands on messy activities which the children love. We have a safe enclosed garden were the children play and outside toys. We attend local childminder toddler groups and also attend Sure Start events with the children I care for.
We go to parks, play areas and outings to the beach, farms, anywhere as long as we have fun and enjoy. Sometimes we go by ourselves and other times we tag along with other Registered Childminders.
My Experience
I have been a Registered Childminder since 2003. I work closely with all parents ensuring that the children's care and support for healthy development and learning is consistent and all the needs of each individual child are met. I recognise there are times when parents need flexibility in the care of their child/children and I try to adapt my availability accordingly. Records, Policies and Procedures are all in place for the care, learning, development and safety of every child.
My Qualifications
I hold a Paediatric First Aid which is renewed every 3 years. CRB checks are in place for myself and both my daughters. Foundation certificate in Food Hygiene, Child Protection which is updated on a regular basis. I am NVQ4 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development, I also attend training opportunities when available to help develop and enhance my childcare practices.
My Availability
Currently have Part time vacancies and do school runs to and from St Bertellines on Windmill Hill.
