About Me

I live in East Molesey with my husband and daughter who is 5. My husband also works with children in the local area.

I'm looking for part time work. I am available Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday

My Experience

(over a year) I have been helping at an after school art club and holiday club. I currently do this at The Orchard in East Molesey on Mondays after school.

October 2024 - Temporary 3 week position with a lovely family. My main duty was caring for an amazing 5 year old boy. We formed a great bond and now continue to have playdates ?

July 2024 - Temporary 5 weeks position at Children's Workshop Preschool. My role was to play and I love to do this!

Summer 2022 - June 2024 I worked part time at an amazing childminders. My roles included, caring for the children, school pick ups and creating activities and everything you can think of out of cardboard for the children to play with!

3rd August 2015 – February 2017: I was a Nursery Practitioner at Bambini Nursery, I worked in Rabbit Class with the 2-3 year olds. I provided a very high standard of care for all the children and organised daily activities for them; covering all the areas of the EYFS over each week, taking account of each child’s individual needs.

I had eight Key children. I worked with the individual child and their parents to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.

12th March 2015 – 31st July 2015: I was a Nursery Assistant at Hillcroft, working in Blue Room with children aged 2.5-4.5 years old. I provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all the children in Blue Room. With another staff member I organise and run the daily activities in the room in accordance with our planning. As well as the overall planning and displays for the room, I complete IDMs, mid-term planning and Learning Journals for my Key Children. I have also been working in Red Room with 1-2.5 year olds one day a week, where as well providing a high standard of care for the children, I run daily activities and help with the display boards. Unfortunately, this job finished as the nursery closed down.

April 2015 – November: For one day a week (Wednesdays) I was a sole charge nanny for a 12 month old boy. Our days mostly consisted of books, messy play and trips to the park! This position finished as the little boy started nursery school.

From March 2012 – End of February 2015: I looked after two amazing girls (the oldest since 4 months and the youngest since birth). We did lots of Art & Craft activities with the girls which they loved (painting, drawing, building houses/shops/boats for toys, rockets/boats/trains for the girls, costumes for toys and the girls; most things you can think of, we've built together!). We were also always out and about to the playground/playgroup/park.

In February & March 2012: I was a Mother's Help/Sole Charge Nanny for a family with 8 month old twins; a temporary position which ended in March. My main duties were to play with the twins, keep them safe and happy and to take them out and about in the sunshine :)

I worked at Thames Tiddlers Nursery in South East London from February 2011 until February 2012 full time while I gained my NVQ2 in the Children and Young People's Workforce. At Thames Tiddlers I cared for the children in the 2 - 5 unit, providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all the children placed in the nursery.

One of my duties was to work with children with Individual Educational Plans which have been set up by Educational Physiologists and the SENCO. I read the reports and then planned and carried out both one-to-one and group activities with the child. I then recorded my evaluation of the activity. I have worked with children with speech and language difficulties, behaviour and social difficulties and autism.

My Qualifications

- Auguest 2024 - NVQ 2 Understanding Autism

- 15 years experience working with children.

- I have a NVQ2 in the Children and Young People's Workforce and have completed a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Course (needs updating). I have also attended training courses in Food Hygiene, Active Movement, SEN Foundation Training.

- I have a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Level 4) qualification.

- LSCB Safeguarding Workshop for Early Years

- I have a BA Hons in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design and a Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art & Design) from Camberwell College of Art.

Amy has been an incredible help with my children since we moved to London. My son, who is 5 years old and still learning English, immediately connected with her. She has a wonderful way with him, and they always had a great time together. Amy was consistently punctual and even patiently waited when I was occasionally late from work.
Unfortunately, we are moving to a new area in London, and both my son and I are truly sad that Amy won’t be able to stay with us. She has been a wonderful presence in our lives, and we will miss her dearly.

Amy is an amazing person to have on your team. She is so kind, patient and intuitive in how she works and never fails to bring creative flair to a days activities. She always takes the time to check in with us and our little one and very quickly taps into the best way to approach the day. Highly highly recommended!!!

Amy has helped me run an after school and holiday art club for children aged 4-11yrs for the last two years, and is absolutely wonderful with them. Amy meets every project with enthusiasm and knows how to adapt and help every child based on their needs and ability, to get the best out of them. She is a natural with children, and intuitively knows what is required to keep them engaged. if you’re looking for someone who is playful, creative and enjoys the outdoors to give your child memorable experiences and not just childcare, Amy is perfect. She is always on time, highly trustworthy and goes above and beyond what is required. I highly recommend her!

Amy has looked after my children 2/3yrs and 4/5yrs and they absolutely love her. She is creative and joyful with a passion for art and music that she shares with the children who thrive around her.

Whether it’s face painting or baking or playing outside Amy understands what the children need and how to bring the best out of them. She is a pleasure to have around and we would highly recommend her.
