About Me

I'm a responsible, caring, fun and outgoing person. I enjoy being active and helping children learn through active play. I am passionate about what I do, and always have been. I have experience with children of all ages, right from newborn. I’m currently in a 1:2 SEN teaching assistant post in a school in rickmansworth after previously working as a deputy manager within a preschool nursery setting, previous to that I completed 1.5 years of nannying for a family of two children full time alongside my own two children. I have worked with children since august 2010, giving me 14 years of childcare experience, mainly in a nursery setting; holding a variety of positions in this time, I’ve had senior leadership roles within my time at nurseries and felt it was time to branch out to do something that had a better work/life balance. I practice gentle parenting and believe in the “praise not punish” and teaching children through positively reinforcing the “shoulds ” rather than the “should nots”. I’m also an accredited sleep consultant. And I do offer occasional babysitting around my work and home life. I have a clean full UK driving license and a UK passport.

My Experience

I have been a deputy manager of a setting and I have been a Senior nursery nurse and room leader of a busy toddler room and also a room leader of a baby room, I've had experience with all ages under 5 and I also have my own 7 year old little boy and 3 year old girl. I have paediatric first aid and I have worked with a small amount of additional needs.

I am was a nanny for a family in gerrards cross (g6 and boy 3.5) I was employed with them from September 2021. I toilet trained their son in January 2021. I had childcare duties which required nursery and school drop offs and collections and I carried out small amounts of housework and cooking and nursery duties. I fulfilled this role alongside caring for my own children which has been an amazing bonus, however mine will now both be at school full time, I managed very well with the blend of children and always kept them busy with activities that suited all ages and interests.

I am currently a 1:2 SEN teaching assistant in year one of a primary school, previous to that I was a deputy manager of a preschool.

Before I had my own children I carried out some ad hoc overnight/weekend babysitting for a family that spanned over 2011-2015.

My Qualifications

I have a GCSE in Home economics childcare and a Cache Level 3 in childcare and education. I also have a paediatric first aid qualification, food hygiene certificate and a safeguarding children certificate and am an accredited gentle sleep consultant.

My Availability

From confirmation of job acception I would have to give current employer 4 weeks written notice. Hours that I would be able to work would be mainly full time. I do not work weekends unless it’s ad hoc babysitting pre agreed.
