About Me

Hi, my name is Sophie and i have been Ofsted registered since March 2015. I worked at a local nursery in Stamford for 2 years before leaving to start my own family in 2013. I started my training to become a childminder in June 2014 and completed this and became registered with ofsted in March 2015. I live in a lovely house in Ryhall with my partner Steven and our 3 children Skylar (10), Indie-mae (7) and Maeve (2).

I have the following qualifications and certificates to name just a few:
*NVQ level 2 in childcare and early years
*NVQ level 3 in childcare and early years
*CACHE Award Understand how to set up a home based childcare service
*Paediatric first aid
*Safeguarding Children
*Supporting children with speech, language and communication needs
*An Introduction to Children Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
*Raising Developmental Concerns with Parents

I feel that in my setting i create a home from home environment where children learn through having fun. I have vast knowledge of caring for children between the ages of 0-5 years old and can tailor activities for a range of different ages. My house is on a quiet road just on the edge of the village and i have a large back garden which is perfect for outdoor play. I have a fantastic separate playroom with french doors that go straight out into the garden meaning open play is always possible.
I aim to try and provide a curiosity approach to play with lots of open ended activities.
We have an English bulldog called Bella who is 4 years old and you’ll often find her searching for the best spot to have a snooze and sunbathe. I am available to provide wrap around care - before and after school from Ryhall C OF E Academy and Ryhall Childcare Centre and offer school holiday clubs also.
