My Experience

During my training I had the wonderful opportunity to be taken on permanently as a Nursery Nurse at my placement and began my childcare career at Little Inspirations Day Nursery. I worked with children aged between 3mo-3 years old as a Key Worker with sole charge of up to 4 children. I was responsible for planning my own activites and love using my own initiative and imagination. I was also responsible for light cleaning duties and had to undertake the completion of Developmental Files for each of my Key Children during my own time and enjoyed this thoroughly as it gave me great joy to see their progress.

Also at Little Inspirations I had the opportunity to be part of the Holiday Care Scheme for children aged 4-11 years. This involved being the sole carer for a group or some times working on a 1:1 basis. Some of the children I cared for during the Holiday Scheme were children with disabilities, this was challenging at times but working the Holiday Scheme and seeing how much the children benefited from my care was truelly overwhelming and extremely rewarding.

After working at the Nursery for 6 months I thought it was time to challenge myself further and take on more responsibility so I put my profile on this website. Within a couple of weeks I was offered a job as a Full Time Nanny covering a Maternity for a lovely family of 3 children aged 2,6 and 8 years old. During this I was responsible for the children's washing, ironing, after school activities, drops to school, school holiday care and cooking the children's tea on occasions. I also took the 2 year old to toddler groups to the park and had an activity planned for him every day. Sadly I had to leave this job as it was only on a temporary basis.

I then worked as a Private Nanny for a family of 4 children aged 10, 6, 4 and 6 months old. I had sole care of the children and did school drop offs and made sure they were safe and well occupied with appropriate activities in and out of term time. This job ended as the parents were able to take reduced hours allowing them to be home more.

I worked as a Private Nanny for 3 years with 2 children. I did the school drop offs and after school and holiday care. I took the children on regular outings and trips and ensuring they are happy, safe and content. I did house keeping such as ironing, cooking, cleaning etc. I also did sleep ins when requested to help out.

I am currently under a temporary contract at my school and am looking at some other options
