I have availability from this September 2025 for a child who is a good walker. It’s 3 days a week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Claire’s childcare is a Ofsted registered childminding service, based in Chatham just off Pattens lane.
I offer a lovely, caring home from home environment for all of the children I care for. I believe that no child should be left behind and create every opportunity to get your child ready for when they start school. I aim to achieve the best learning environment for your child, while working in partnership with parents. I take every opportunity to provide new experiences both indoors and outdoors. I have a lovely playroom and garden for your child to enjoy. The children and I go to the parks, places of interest (inspired by the children) at any opportunity and local play groups.
Claire's Childcare is a safe, fun and caring environment for all children aged 6 months to 11 years old. I offer before and after school pick up from Balfour infants and Junior school only at a competitive price. Please contact me for details.
My Experience
I have 10 years experience of childminding and also have 2 children 13 and 17 of my own. Over the years I have cared for children as young as 6 months old and still have them in my care now as they are turning 9 this year. It’s so rewarding being apart of their life and watching the children grow until they go to secondary school.

My Availability
I offer childcare Tuesday to Thursday for children under the age of 5, 7.30 to 5.30.
Monday to Friday for school age children 7.30 to school drop off and then school pick up to 5.30. For Balfour infant and junior school.

Claire had our son since he turned 9 months and had him until he turned 21 months until we moved house.
Claire was fantastic at all stages of his growth and development. When he first joined as a baby he settled in so quickly and she was so loving and nurturing.
Our son now asks to go to Claire’s all the time. He was always excited to see her in the morning and left smiling in the evening. The activities that he did were really fun and age appropriate. Lots of messy play and crafts that were educational and fun. The facilities she has at her home are fantastic. She would send lots of pictures and updates throughout the day.
Claire always struck the balance of professional and caring perfectly. She really took the time to get to know our child and it made the process of putting my baby in a childcare setting as easy as it could be. I could not recommend her more.

Claire is absolutely superb. She is loving, caring, considerate and very good with our children at her home setting. Our Son is always buzzing with excitement to join her in the morning, and always super happy and cheerful on pickup too. Claire is a positive and vibrant soul with so much love and dedication to her profession. We could not imagine a world without Claire being an integral part of our childcare. She means everything to us, and our children.

My husband and I are very happy with Claire's care of our daughter who has been with her for just over a year. It's a real home from home environment and Claire feels like a friend as well as trusted childcare professional. Our daughter loves her (and her family) and talks about them a lot as well as the other children there. They get lots of fresh air, exercise and playtime, going on regular outings to parks, playgroups and other local places of interest. My daughter has made some lovely crafts too and enjoys playing in Claire's lovely garden. My daughter eats well there and has lots of lovely home cooked dinners. I feel like I can approach Claire for any advice about my daughter. I get updates and photos/videos of my daughter every day she is there so I know how she's been, what she's been up to and how she's eaten and slept. It feels like a much more personal, gentle childcare setting than a big nursery and is tailored to the needs of the children. We intend for our daughter to stay with Claire for years to come.

Our daughter, who is now 8, has been with Claire since she was 8 months old. We are delighted that our son (4) will be starting with her in September and know he will be brilliantly looked after too. Claire has been an incredible childminder for our daughter, through all the stages of her childhood, always thinking of fantastic activities for the children to do, she really cares about the children she looks after and is like family to us now. She is really easy to communicate with and keeps us well informed of how our daughter is getting on in her setting.

My toddler has been with Claire almost 2 years and what can I say, a great decision! My LB started after lockdown. From the start she has remained professional, welcoming and so loving, kind and patient with my LB (and me haha). He loves his days with Claire and the other children. Most days they go to 1 or more park's from local to further afield. As long as it's not extreme weather they are usually out and about. If they are indoors they are usually playing, or making arts and crafts. Always having fun. My LB particularly loves her garden. Every now and then she has taken them on a small day trip in half terms. They have 3 meals a day and snacks. With the school runs during term time there's a bit of structure and nice mix of children for my LB. He sleeps well after a day at Claire's. She has a lovely way with the children , he is always excited to go. Alongside the activities she gets to know the children and really tunes into and supports their stages of development, interest's and personalities. She updates regularly throughout the day with messages and pictures. The only sick days she has had in our time with her and on our days was 2x near the start of lockdown openings due to COVID. We hope to stay with her many years to come! Claire,her family and the other children at the setting have all become very important to my LB. And Claire a wonderful person and professional for me to talk to about anything related to my LB.

Thank you so much, I love caring for you LB, he is such a joy to be around.
Claire looked after my son from when he was 9 months old until he started school in September.
Claire is a brilliant childminder and I never had any concerns in the time she looked after him.
Claire would take the children to toddler groups and always planned activities and trips to the park.
Claire always kept me informed on his progress and the things he had been learning.
If my son had gone to Balfour School I would definitely still be using her now.
My son loved going to Claire’s and we still keep in touch with her as he is always telling me he misss her and her family.
I would highly recommend Claire to anyone looking for a childminder as she is so patient, kind and caring.

We have been using Claire for the last eight years and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Claire is simply brilliant with my children as she is kind, caring and always has the children's interests at heart, and they have always enjoyed there time with her. Claire is always planning exciting activities which include taking them out to places of interest and parks which my children loved. Claire is always professional and communicates everything clearly within a timely manner. I cannot thank Claire enough for her excellent childminder services, and for everything she does for us, it is so comforting to know my children are in excellent hands and Claire comes highly recommended.

My daughter has been cared for by Claire for three years and absolutely loves her like a second mum. Claire and her family are part of our family now and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Claire takes the time to get to know the children in her care and is always available to talk about things that are going on for my daughter, offering advice when necessary. If you ask my daughter who she trusts, it's always mum, dad and Claire! I can go to work safe in the knowledge that my daughter is well cared for and happy with Claire.
I would definitely recommend Claire to anyone looking for outstanding childcare.

Claire is a fantastic childminder, she cares for my boys in a way I could have only hoped for. They love going to her house and have great fun. She is honest and always open to finding ways to work with me and my children when we encounter any difficulties, be they emotional, at school or especially in the past year of Covid-19 uncertainty - keeping the happiness and security of the children at the forefront of her mind.
My 6yo has some big emotions and she took a lot of time to really get to know him and what makes him tick when he joined her at Reception. I see her as his ally and I think that this is an invaluable relationship for him....In 3 words he describes her as "kind, loving and generous - because she's generous to me about lots of things and listens to me".
She worked especially closely with me, going above and beyond my expectations when my BF 12month old transitioned into her setting after my maternity leave came to an end. She researched gentle ways and made suggestions to help us prepare for this big change, it made it so much easier for us and he's flourishing with her now at 20 months old.
I couldn't recommend her enough :0)
