My name is Karina Esprit I have been working in childcare and education for over 12 years. I have been a nursery nurse, a private nanny, a school assistant, and an outdoors education instructor.
I have had experience working one on one with children of varying ages, abilities and needs.
I work as closely with the parent to promote open communication as we believe this gives the child the greatest opportunity to thrive and reach their potential.
My childminder's is called 'Heron’s nest home nursery' it is committed to fulfilling the requirements set by the EYFS.
The EYFS development goals are used to work with each individual child on their growth and development personally.
My setting is a bright spacious open plan space with a cosy home from home feel. The toys are set out in areas like a nursery and I change the display regularly in accordance with the childrens interests.
I have a spacious secure garden with a playhouse, slide, seesaw, water play table, bikes, scooters, toy cars, toy lawn mower, mud kitchen, watering cans and footballs. There is grass area, patio and decking.

Karina and all at Herons nest are absolutely amazing! It's the little things I notice in my little one when I pick him up, he's alot happier, excited to tell me about his day, and settles down without a fuss compared to when he attends the nursery setting. Having an older child (3 years) I was worried he wouldn't learn as much as he would in a nursery setting, and goodness was I wrong! He has learnt so much in the short time he has been there, and I highly recommend this setting for all ages! Thank you Karina for creating a safe, warm and loving learning environment for my little one while I'm at work, it really helps ease the mum guilt knowing he is being so well taken care of! Thank you!
Initially I was nervous about returning to work after a year and kept prolonging it because I couldn’t stand the thought of leaving my daughter with anyone. I checked out a few childminders but unfortunately, I did not take to them. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have found Karina. She treats my daughter like family and invests time into her developmental needs. It’s never a boring day at Karina’s the children are always doing activities and going on outings and she keeps their little busy minds engaged. Karina has been so patient and reassuring throughout the whole process, she has supported my daughter in weaning off milk throughout the day, napping and introducing new foods (Picky eater). I do not trust anyone with my daughter other than my mother, her father and Karina. I can honestly go to work with a clear mind and peace in my heart because I know my daughter is good. Please do not hesitate to check out Herons Nest!
My daughter and I spent every 24 h for the last 1 year, together. We were never separated! As it came the time for me to go back to work, I started to look for childminders. Obviously, my heart was broken and I knew that no one will be good enough to trust!
However, after meeting some childminders, I arrived to Herons Nest, where Karina opened me the door to a peaceful, fun, full of love and care environment!
She was so patient with us and so loyal to the process of accommodating my daughter with someone new.
Herons Nest is not just a childminder that supervise your child while you are at work, but involves deeply in her development as there are good routines they follow, they do outside activities and they constantly learn new things.
I am still a mother that would not let her child with anyone else! But, Karina earned my trust! I love the way she hold my daughter, talks to her and makes sure she finds the full experience a well deserved treat!
Our son has been attending Herons Nest for nearly a year and is really thriving. The indoor play set up is brilliant and homely and they are so lucky to have a wonderful outdoor space with decking, multiple play stations and toys. They also go on outings most days which gives a sense of adventure and challenge. Small, friendly and welcoming, we feel so comfortable with our son spending happy days here. We can’t wait for our baby daughter to join when she’s ready! A lovely nurturing setting.
