About Me
I have been a registered Childminder since 1993. I was last inspected in 2019 and graded GOOD all round. I accept government funding (with a sustainability fee added ) for children who are 2 years and over. (Also 9 month olds from September 2024)
I live with my husband Robert in Harnham/ Britford area of Salisbury. Whilst he is not registered with me now, he is still very active in entertaining the children.
I am dedicated to providing a high standard of childcare in a homebased setting for children from birth to 11. As part of my daily care, I take existing children in my care to Harham Junior and Infant school, and Puddleducks nursery playgroup.
I have lived in the Harnham area for 39 years and brought my children up in the area. Continuity of care is very important to me, as is the happiness and welfare of the children in my care. We spend a little of our day 'out n about' in the fresh air in all weather's, visiting exciting places to keep the children interested and entertained - These include the beach, New Forest, Langford Lakes, National Trust places, Library, Toddlers, Cathedral, Moors Valley, and Porton Pets! I follow the EYFS as guidance for learning, and meet with other childminders for social interaction and support. I also provide lots of indoor learning and play, including painting, drawing, playdough, mathematics and science based activities to help develop their learning. Our day also includes free play, and I provide a wide range of toys, books, imaginative play props to help with these sessions.
I can provide superb references from happy long term professional parents who still remain with me years on.
My Experience
30 years of chidminding and 38 yrars parental experience looking after my own 3 boys who were close in age. I have taken part in a wide variety of training in all areas of childcare including First Aid and Safeguarding which I refreshed in January 2024.
My Qualifications
NVQ3 in childcare and a current First Aid certificate and Safeguarding certificate. Training in COEL and Food & Hygiene

Our daughter has been looked after Martine for the last 5 years. She started in Martine’s care at 9months old when I returned to work. It was only meeting Martine and seeing how nurturing she was that I felt at ease returning to the workplace.
My daughter loves the mixture of outdoor adventures, library and cathedral visits, trips to the farm or woods, indoor activities, playing with Martine’s extensive range of educational toys, making seasonal decorations, baking, crafting and dressing up. As you can imagine at times it has proved very difficult to get my little one to leave Martine’s at collection time.
Martine’s childcare setting is immaculate and she ensures children’s possessions are looked after when in her care.
Martine ensures the children in her setting maintain high standards of behaviour, manners and kindness towards each other. She promotes good hygiene practices from an early age.
I cannot praise Martine (and her husband) enough. The communication has always been fantastic. Martine keeps parents up to date with progress and activities throughout the day and gives a very well rounded handover at collection.
It is clear that Martine cares deeply about the children in her care and it is testament to her amazing abilities that those who have outgrown the need to use Martine’s services are still in regular contact with her.
Our daughter often asks to go to Martines even when she isn’t scheduled to, proving how amazing Martine is and how much the children love being in her company.

Martine has been looking after my children for five years and I would not hesitate in recommending her. She has cared for each of my children from the age of 12 months. I was only happy to return to work knowing that my children were going to be in Martine’s capable hands. Martine is a warm, kind and friendly lady who is very experienced in looking after young children. She knows exactly how to make your child (and the parent) feel at ease in what is a challenging time, returning to work having been on maternity leave. Martine forms easy and lasting bonds with the children in her care who adore her and her husband Robert. Often my children ask to go to Martine’s even if it’s a day when they aren’t supposed to be there!
Martine’s care includes a mix of exercise in the fresh air outdoors as well as indoor activities such as visiting the library or free play in her home where she has plenty of educational toys; crafting activities and books to stimulate the children.
Martine’s setting is immaculately clean and tidy and she carefully looks after the children’s possessions making sure the children return home with everything they arrived with!
Martine ensures the children in her setting maintain high standards of behaviour, manners and kindness towards each other.
Martine keeps her parents fully updated with the children’s activities throughout the day via WhatsApp messaging and it’s a joy to see photos of your children having fun, often outdoors, during the day.

Hi, I’ve been using Martine for a couple of years for school drop offs and pick ups. She’s also available for a hour or two after school. She is completely reliable and a real bonus when it comes to flexibility. She is very lovely to chat to at pick ups etc and often has mini-treats for them for excellent walking (just smarties) which compliments her lovely approach to childcare.

I’m very happy to recommend Martine.
A number of my friends and colleagues have had their children looked after by Martine previously, so it was easy for us to choose her to look after our two. Our oldest has been with her for over 5 years and I’ve always been confident in the care she gives.
I enjoy getting updates via what’s app about what is going on during the day. Photos of them being out and about and messages to describe what they have been doing or learning. They always seem to be active and go to a variety of locations.
Martine has been very supportive and flexible when needed. I would recommend her.

Martine has been a childminder for our little lady for almost two years, since she was 11 months old. When we first reached out to Martine, we had tried a nursery but found the care wasn’t for us. M offered to meet us for a coffee, where we chatted for a long time. From that first meeting, and how much time and care Martine offered us, before we had even signed up - we just knew she was the right provider for us. Martine goes above and beyond expectations everyday, there has been too many times to tell but occasions that really spring to mind include: early last minute starts with less than 12 hours notice. Driving our little lady to our house to drop her off, free of charge, when we were locked ourselves out of our house, answering our queries 24/7, buying jelly and making our daughters medicine into a dessert, toilet training, providing countless photos videos and updates throughout the day, thoughtful gifts and cooking meals when we have forgotten to send them, just to name a few. Aside from just being an extension to our family - Martine knows our daughter better than anyone outside of myself and my partner and she has become our go to for advice. There’s not enough good things I could say, other than that we get compliments daily about how well our little one is developing - and we have no doubt it is from the constant love and time and attention that Martine puts into the children. She is fun, but firm - and children listen to her. She sets boundaries but rewards frequently and is an all round super nanny. Would recommend highly, I was sceptical about a childminder over a nursery - but now we would choose it again - every time.
