About Me
My name is Suzy and I'm a registered childminder in Whitefield. I am Qualified to Level 3 in Childcare and also have an Advanced GNVQ in Art and Design and an A Level in Graphics.
I am married with 2 children aged 5 and 7, a boy and a girl.
I live very close to the motorway, junction 17 and a couple of minutes from Besses 'oth Barn metro station and close to the 135,98 and 93 bus routes.
I decided to become a childminder after my first child was born and haven't looked back.
In the school holidays I meet up with family and friends who are also in this line of work so the children meet others and become friends. We like to visit local parks, museums and libraries.
I like to think of my house as home from home for the children and have many activities and cupboards full of toys although I like it to be child led so usually whatever the children feel like doing we do it! I like to do face painting and craft and also like to play ball at the park.
The house itself was built around my job with an extension at the back for larger floor space and also a downstairs bathroom so the children or myself can be seen and heard from the whole of the ground floor. The garden is fully decked and is also fully enclosed with no gates so is very private. We also have a mini house in the garden that the children can use with a toy kitchen and table and chairs.
My Experience
I have a lifetime of experience as since I was 4 my mum has been a childminder so I was brought up around it. I have 14 years experience 12 of which I have been qualified.
I have worked in several private nurseries in Prestwich, Radcliffe and Rawtenstall where I worked with children from 3 months to 11 years.
I worked in the Kids club creche and softplay area in the Trafford Centre over seeing children on the equipment and private care in the creche area.
I worked abroad as a Kiddie rep doing entertainment and kids clubs. I have also worked as a Teaching assistant in a Reception class for 2 years so have knowledge within a school.
I have been childminding for 8 years at home and see this as my future.
