About Me
My name is Estelle Lawrence, I am a Ofsted registered Childminder located in Middlecroft, Staveley. I have 2 daughters Sienna aged 10 and Scarlett Aged 3. We live together with my husband Richard who works in adult education. I love working with children and encouraging their learning and development.
I have created a separate purpose built playroom filled with both educational and fun equipment. Inside there are different areas to encourage varied skills from creative play to numeracy and literacy. The garden is an enclosed and a safe environment with toys for all ages. I plan to cover different topics each month such as family, treasure, growing, and transport making the children’s learning exciting. I also have transportation for further excursions to places like Graves park, in and Sherwood forest.
I live in a detached house in Middlecroft on a quiet cul-de-sac which is within a short walk from Speedwell infants, Staveley Junior School and St Joseph’s primary School. We live close to St Georges Play area which has two separate enclosures for different age groups. We also live within walking distance of Poolsbrook country park, jolly pirates play centre and Staveley library.
My Experience
previous to child minding, I have had experience working in a variety of childcare settings, Nannying, Nursery Nurse at Butlins working in the young stars Nursery with children aged 3months to 4yrs. I was also a supply teaching Assistant to Nurseries and schools around sheffield.
For 14 years I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Acres hill school in Sheffield., YR ,Y1 and Y2 classes. before I left to do childminding I worked in the schools nursery unit. Over the 14 years I worked at Acres hill School I have worked with groups of children and individuals needing extra support with literacy, reading and writing. I have also worked with children who have special educational needs and helped them to achieve targets on their individual education plans.
My Qualifications
I’m a fully qualified Nursery Nurse (NNEB) and I have a Foundation Degree in Early Educare & childhood obtained in 2005 at Derby University. I also have a teacher’s assistant qualification, I’m first aid trained and have completed a introduction to childminding course with Derbyshire county council.
