About Me
Welcome to Nature Tots! We’re a Term Time Only setting for little ones aged from birth up to 4 years and 11 months. We provide a cosy, nurturing home-from-home environment that focuses on the holistic development of each child in our care.
I’m Jen, and I work alongside my amazing assistant, Jenny, who shares my passion for working with young children and promoting early years education.
We're nestled in the lovely Kingsmead area, located on a peaceful cul-de-sac right across from a beautiful wooded green and duck pond. Just a short stroll away, you’ll find plenty of playgrounds and nature paths, plus we’re lucky enough to have remarkable access to private woodlands for our Forest School sessions and an allotment. This makes it easy for us to weave outdoor learning into our everyday activities!
At Nature Tots, we have three children of our own, and we also share our space with two friendly cats and two well-trained and good natured Labradors, who add to the fun!
We empower children to lead their own play here, using a blend of Montessori, Hygge, and Forest School methods. I truly believe that being outdoors enriches the learning experience, allowing children to explore and grow in wonderful ways.
Our spacious setting covers the entire ground floor and features a dedicated playroom, cosy lounge, quiet area, kitchen (perfect for messy play, arts and crafts, and baking), and a large garden. Plus, we have access to our allotment during the growing season and a fantastic private woodlands and Forest School area! Every space is filled with thoughtfully chosen resources and open-ended activities that encourage children to discover their interests and learn at their own pace.
In our Playroom, you'll find a treasure trove of high-quality educational resources that are easily accessible for the tots to choose from on their own. We focus on open-ended, child-led learning with engaging invitations to play sparking imaginations, and fostering new experiences that reflect each child’s interests and individual learning journey.
Beyond our setting, we have an exciting enrichment program that includes outings to places like our very own Forest School Session within Private Woodlands , Jo Jingles, Farm’s, Zoo’s, National Trust and Country Parks, and fun Playgroups! These experiences provide a vibrant learning environment for the children to enjoy and socialise in.
Working with young children is such a joy, and I feel so fortunate to be part of their journeys as they blossom and develop. It’s a privilege to look after these precious little ones!
We’re proud to hold a Strong Good Ofsted rating with areas of Outstanding (we were last inspected in January 2023), and we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Childminding is a fantastic option for those needing flexible childcare. Here, your child can enjoy the same educational and developmental benefits of the EYFS curriculum as they would in a nursery, but in a more personal, home-like setting. Plus, childminding allows for fun exploration of the natural world and our local community outside of traditional environments.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
Our fees are all-inclusive and cover locally sourced home-cooked, nutritionally balanced breakfast, a 2-course lunch and tea, snacks, and drinks. We also provide all nappies, wipes, our Enrichment Programme, and Outings at no extra cost.
Outside of the regular daily hours, we are open to negotiating later pick-up times.
We recommend a minimum attendance of 2 days per week for children to settle in quickly.
We accept both Government Subsidised Funding for 9 months, 2 year and 3/4 year olds and Tax-Free Childcare. We do not charge any additional fees surrounding for funded hours, so our families benefit fully from the free hours.

My daughter currently goes to Jenny 2 days a week and I could not be more happy with the service Jenny provides. My daughter has so much fun when she is there and always comes home with lots of stories of the activities that they have been doing, lots of fun and educational. Jenny has always been very helpful and reliable during the time georgie has been going to her and I would recommend her to my friends.

My son currently goes to Jen three days a week. I could not be happier with the service she provides. My son gets the opportunity to do lots of messy play, creative activities, go to play group and socialise with other children. His development has increased massively since his time with Jen and the service she provides means we can track his progress and help to progress him onto the next stage. Jen is very caring and my son loves going to her. He always has healthy meals and is welcomed as one of the family. I would highly recommend Jen to anyone.

My son has been going to Jenny since he was 13 months and he absolutely loves it. Jenny offers a safe but fun environment for him and I go to work without worrying as I know he is in safe hands.
The activities are brilliant, I have seen improvements in my sons speech and understanding since being with Jenny. I have also noticed that being with other children has made his confidence grow.
Jenny makes sure she gets out and about with them and keeps me fully updated on what they are doing or done each day. She also sends a online update which is usually waiting for me when I get home from picking my son up- this contains everything I need to know about the day.
I would fully recommend anyone looking for childcare contacts Jenny. She is dedicated to her job and this shows in how hard she works to keep the children entertained with fun but educational activities.

Our daughter has been with Jenny for over 6 months now and we couldn't be happier with the service that Jenny offers. The variety of activities, meals and trips that are offered on a daily basis are excellent. At the end of each day we receive a comprehensive report of Evie's day which is really informative and also includes photographs of the days activities! Jenny is a lovely, caring person and she has taken great care of Evie over the past months.
Sadly due to a change in my job, we have had to make the difficult decision to move Evie to a childminder closer to home. I can't recommend Jenny enough, you can confidently leave you child in her care knowing they will be looked after to the highest standard.
We would like to wish Jenny all the best for the future and if we ever need a childminder in Northwich again she will be the first person we contact :)
