My Summary
About Me
Welcome to Waldemar Avenue Childcare - a happy, safe, and inspiring setting for children, run by Dana, an experienced professional childminder.
Together with my co-childminder Mira, and our two assistants, we provide a friendly, family atmosphere, where children feel loved and secure, and enjoy playing and learning.
We adopt a nursery structure, incorporating regular daily routines, record keeping, training, and a key person system.
Our food is freshly cooked and we encourage healthy eating.
We provide lots of interesting activities, including children's yoga, baking, learning projects, and music with Helen our musician.
We read for children on a daily basis, and books are everywhere in our setting.
We believe that creative activities help children to express their feelings, and give them opportunities to try out new ideas. Therefore, our day is filled with creative play, including role play, acting, dancing, painting, and building.
We take children on regular outings to local parks and we also have a large garden which includes a sand pit, gardening area, slide, ‘mud kitchen’, and a little ‘frog pond’ with tadpoles in it. We have lots of space for running, hiding, and playing ball, and learning about nature.
Please note that unfortunately we are unable to offer school pickups or term-time care.
Excellent references are available.
My Experience
My experience:
Dana
I have eighteen years-experience in childcare (working with children of ages 3 months- 8 years).
My first role was in a Children’s Home, where I looked after young children who lived through difficult experiences. After moving to London, I spent 8 years working for Happy Child Nurseries where I first managed the baby room, and then toddler and pre-school groups. During my time with the company, I was promoted to Nursery Deputy and Acting Manager.
I believe that babies and children thrive when they are loved and well cared for. I bond with children, enjoy spending time with them, and feel proud of their attempts and achievements.
I help children to become independent and confident learners.
I hold a degree in Education and NVQ level 3 in Childcare.

I feel so, so lucky to have found Waldemar childcare when we moved to the area. Dana and the team are all brilliant. My son attended until school age and had a beautiful summer with the team at Waldemar, going on amazing outings e.g. Kew Gardens - playing in the local parks, planting veg in the garden. I really value the alternative ways of teaching that they incorporate at Waldemar, including lots of lovely arts and crafts. Now he is at school he requests to go back every holiday, which the team are happy to accommodate and is a lifesaver for us.
I had to return to work very early with my daughter when she was only 5 months old - I found this incredibly hard yet, knowing she would be going to Waldemar was the only saving grace. She settled quickly, loves the music time and I feel confident knowing she is being cared for as if she was with family. She is thriving there and the level of interest and knowledge from the team on her progress is second to none. We get amazing updates from the team on their activities in the day. My children also eat so well they want me to have Fahimeh's curry and Dana's porridge at home! As working parents this also really eases the daily stresses in the evening knowing they've had a nutritious meal at Waldemar so it's ok if all I can rustle up is an omlette :)
Due to moves we have experience of 4 different childcare settings (nurseries, nannies etc.) and this is hands down the best care we could have imagined.

I've had two children go to Waldemar from 11months to starting school, with my youngest due to leave this coming September (2023). It is no exaggeration to say they have been the luckiest children in Ealing to have the opportunity to attend this childminding setting. It's a home from home for my children and they both settled remarkably quickly. My 7 year old is still happy to go back for the odd day during school holidays which I think speaks volumes about the environment.
The children have a wonderful variety of play including in the garden but they are taken on days out to Kew Gardens, Ealing Riding School, the local libraries and of course the local parks on the doorstep.
My children have both been prepared wonderfully for school with learning independence at nursey as well as taking part in Christmas plays and sports days. They are of course prepared with classroom activities for handwriting and phonics too.
Dana, Fahimeh, Mira and the team clearly love children and are passionate about giving them the most loving, supportive and caring environment in their early years. I have always had wonderful communication from them about what the children have been up to during the day, what they've eaten and they send photos of many of the lovely activities they get up to.
The food is excellent and they encourage the children to try a wonderful variety of tastes and textures - they eat brilliantly!
With many friends in the area, my kids have been spotted multiple times with Dana and the team in the park and they always tell me how engaged they are with the children and how happy the group seem together. It is so wonderful to hear.
It is very hard to leave young children, especially babies, at nursery but I have to say it feels like dropping them off with family. And my whole family will be missing them very much when it's time to say goodbye.

Our little boy was at Waldemar childcare from 5 months until he went to Reception last year. Fahimeh, Dana and Mira provide a caring, clean, homely setting where all children are happy and being well looked after, at all ages. Our little boy was excited to go everyday, enjoying various activities, the access to a back garden and daily trips to Lammas park close by. Fahimeh’s home cooked food provide the children a healthy and varied diet that many parents would envy! Being a small setting has a lot of advantages as the children get a lot of attention and their progress is well tracked. Dana is a qualified teacher and her approach to learning and preparing the older children for school meant the transition to Reception was seamless. I would highly recommend Waldemar Childcare to any parents looking for a passionate team of carers who put the children’s well-being and growth first!

I honestly cannot praise Fahimeh, Dana and the family at Blossom enough. They are exceptional people and cared for both our children like they were family. They looked after our girls with love, patience, kindness and taught them so many things as they flourished in their care. It felt like home from home. I’ve never known anyone to give such warmth as Fahimeh, she loves her work, cooks beautiful meals for the children and nurtures them exactly how they need when they’re away from parents. Dana is an amazing teacher and has a little classroom set up where the children get creative and love to learn to. The communication is amazing, they’re so reliable and flexible and I always knew I could rely on them if I needed extra help or support. They feel like family and although both my girls are at school now we stay in touch and I miss them all dearly. It is honestly THE best start you could wish for for your children. Just on first impressions you will feel that love and support. I cannot praise them enough but for example when I went to collect my daughters from there they would not want to leave because they loved it so much. My children still talk about the amazing food they had there, the time in the parks or in the garden growing things and playing, trips to the library, Christmas parties and generally the most wonderful memories. Truly a very special place with very special people.

My third child Barney attended Waldemar Childcare for just over a year and the only reason we left was because we relocated. I have 2 older children and I so wish we had known about Fahimeh and her fabulous team for them. Fahimeh's experience is second to none and she has an instant rapport with the children and really cares about them. Barney was a very fussy eater when he first started and Fahimeh and Dana patiently and expertly introduced new foods and increased his confidence. Barney adored them all, as did we, leaving Fahimeh and her team was probably the hardest thing about leaving London- we still miss them. They are flexible, loving and the feeling of warmth (not to mention the amazing cooking smells) that overwhelms you as you drop off your child each morning is something I've never experienced before with any other childcare providers. Communication is very good and I always knew he was in the best place.
The activities are varied and original and they get plenty of fresh air and visits to the local library. There really is something very special about Waldemar Childcare and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone as Fahimeh will give your child the best start and ease them into starting school. Excellent and hugely missed by us and our Barney.
