About Me
My name is Elaine and I have been an OfSted registered childminder for 15 years. I believe in a "home from home" environment where the children can feel safe, play together and develop as individuals. I closely follow the EYFS scheme and create and maintain profiles on each child. You're children wil be welcomed warmly into a family home enriched with toys and nurtured to reach their full potential.
The children have their own playroom which contains a soft seating area, activity area, Nintendo wii, toy boxes and access to the secure outdoor area. There is a decked area where children can take their toys on sunny days when the grass is not completely dry. There is a large grassed area for the sunny days which consists of an activity stand. I believe it is important that children have the opportunity to play both indoors and outdoors when possible.
There is an eating area for the children where they are asked to sit around a table in a family style setting and share meal times together. Meals can be provided by yourself or cooked by myself who will ensure they are nutritionally balanced.
It is my aim to esnure all children have an enjoyable time under my care and that all their individual needs are met.
I am less than 5 minutes away from Methley Primary School and are able to pick up and drop off children at this school.
My Experience
Over my 17 years I have looked after and cared for over 40 children varying in ages from new born to thirteen. I have taken a mixture of only children and siblings, ensuring that all are encouraged to mix with other children in my care.
I have cared for a child diagnosed with ADHD. I built a strong relationship with him and his family and ensured I was well aware of any developments with his condition. When presented with a child who has additional needs, I ensure I receive relevant training in their condition.
I also have 25 years experience of being a mum.
