About Me
Hi my Name is Helen and I have been a registered childminder since 2004 at Upton Childminders. I am an OFSTED Registered Childminder (Good Standard). I aim to work in partnership with parents to meet your needs and the needs of your child.
I am currently open for Key Workers who need emergency childcare to keep the nation running.
I have 2 children age 19 and 15. I live close to Upton Village, which has brilliant access to the motorway and near to all local schools, parks and amenities. I have a warm welcoming home and a lovely large safe garden, fully set up with a vast amount of toys and activities for children of all ages to participate in. I work closely with 2 other childminders and we meet regularly and visit numerous locations ie playgroups, beaches, parks, farms, etc.
Each week we play at home, we attend regular local toddler groups, we meet other childminders, go on numerous outings ie parks, walks, surestart, beach, etc. This enables the children to engage in messy play, arts, crafts, physical activities, build relationships, and get an understanding of the world around them, enabling their learning and development in all areas.
I have a weekly planner in place and I work to the EYFS - Early years foundation stage and carry out observations and assessments under the 4 early learning goals.
Babies are cared for in a safe and stimulating environment, most children in my setting started as little babies and stay until they leave to go to school, so they really do become part of our family.
I enjoy cooking, home cooked food for the children providing at least the recomended 5 aday.

My Experience
I completed a Business Studies Degree in 1999.
Went to Uni and worked as a Recruitment Consultant.
Got married, had my first child and became a childminder.
Childminded since 2004 and have never looked back, I love it. I have 15 years experience of caring for children of all ages. I am experienced with caring for children who have asthma and ADD. I have all the relevant childminder qualifications ICP, NVQ Childcare Level 3, safeguarding children, food and hygiene, first aid.
I have my NVQ Level 3 in Childrens care, learning and development. I am also applying to become on the Wirral Childminders Network. Proving my committment to provide high quiality childcare.

I keep upto date with all relevant training through my local early years team and always attent courses relevant to my childminding setting. I work closely with other local childminders and attend local childminding groups, music, play centres, and engage in many fun outdoor activities.

Current availability for 2 spaces Monday to Wednesday due to school leavers in Dec 22
Flexible opening hours usually 08.00- 18.00

My daughter started going to Helen's from when she was 10 months old right up until she started school (last week). She was always excited to get to Helen's in the mornings which made it so much easier for me! Helen takes the children out to local Playgroups which I found helped bring out my daughters confidence and social skills. Also, regular trips out to the beach, park and swing park to name only a few, meant she was always having fun. She came home telling me about how much fun she had had. When at Helen's the children do lots of paintings, drawings and even baking cakes for birthdays! I have a little boy due soon and I have no doubt he will be going to Helens! She really is fantastic, you know your children are being well cared for and having so much fun!

My children love going to helens it’s the perfect home from home environment. My daughter started with Helen when she was two right up to when she started school and my sons just started. Helen takes a genuine interest in the children she cares for she’s always taking them places like playgroup, beach, park or for walks. When indoors Helen helps with the childrens learning and does a range of activities like baking, painting, colouring and games. I leave my children with Helen knowing there happy and being cared for by someone who genuinely cares. I couldn’t ask for a better person to look after my children.
