My Summary
About Me
Passed both numeracy and literacy teacher training exams with the DoE (Department of Education 2020) for Teacher training PGCE. Also passed the Subject Knowledge Enhancement course in English Literature and Language from Sussex University 2019 England.
Have been working as the main classroom teacher for an Outstanding Ofsted registered nursery school in Tyne and Wear Sunderland England in 2021 before becoming a first time mother to my now 2 year old son.
Very much enjoy Maria Montessori and Rudolph Steiner educational ideologies.
Then I moved back to Ireland and worked for Socratic Education Limited in Gort County Clare as a main classroom teacher. Eureka English and Tung Wah Hospitals Group are the companies I taught for within schools in Hong kong, such as 'The Good time Kindergarten' where I was the main ESL English teacher. Voluntarily I taught the Summer school programme with MOLAS London, Museum of London Archaeological Society. Currently I hold more than 10 years classroom teaching experience and private tutoring. References available on request.
Graduate with a Joint Honours BA from the University of Manchester 2012 in Archaeology and Art History with 360 credits. I hold 60 ECT credits for Biology and International Relations from Aberdeen University.
Originally I was born in London and hold a dual citizenship with both EU and UK nationality. Having obtained qualified kindergarten teacher status in Hong Kong where I lived and worked in South East Asia for 2 and a half years, I was a Dragon Boating athlete for the Lamma 500's for two seasons and for The Viking Dragon Boating Team in Dublin.
Upon returning to the UK and Ireland in 2019 to pursue a career in teaching primary and secondary education I embarked on a PGCE.
Right now I am a full-time homemaker, mother, carer, and online teacher.
My Experience
Have a beginners level understanding of Equestrian sports having gone horse back riding at the East Bolden Riding School in Tyne and wear. I studied for a PGCE at Sussex University 2020.
The latest experience I have acquired has been a Teaching Assistant Course CACHE level 2 with Aspire Education in Exeter in 2021 and I completed modules in 'Behaviour that challenges', 'Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties', Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent', 'Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy', and ' Understanding Nutrition and Health'.
Prior to this course I worked at Centrepoint as a full-time charity fundraiser going door to door from 2019-2020. Currently do carer duties for various people in the community on a charitable basis. This year 2024 I plan to continue being a full time mother and perhaps part-time working in a school as a paid classroom teacher for a secondary school teaching English Literature and Language.
Since September 2016 I moved to South East Asia and worked as a Kindergarten teacher full time and Montessori Guide at 'Touch2learn' under Vanessa Lo who holds the AMI (Association Montessori International) qualification from Toronto in Canada.
In 2016 I worked for a French/Japanese family in Hampstead Garden Suburb looking after 2 girls ages 6 and 8. Term time ended in July 2016 and the family moved back home to Japan. Having previously worked for a Parisian family as an au pair in West Hampstead in 2013, I can provide references available on request.
Having worked in theatres and workshops with children and having worked on a production at the Pentameters Theatre doing the sound and light for a show called 'American Blues' by Tennessee Williams in 2014 with Leonie Scott Mathews and John Dunne, I learnt a lot. I was also involved with the Tricycle theatre in north west London on a show called 'One World'. This production was also performed at the UN summit. It was great working with children of many different ages and helping them understand environmental issues. The play dealt with the challenges we are facing due to environmental issues. Part of my job was to assist the children in learning the script and getting juices and fruits ready for when they had luncheon.
