Sharon Lockey

About Me

My name is Sharon Lockey. I am an Ofsted-registered Childminder based in Skipton and have been since 2008.

During that time, I have seen many different initiatives come and go. However, I have always used my love of children and my strong belief in a playful, enabling environment to support children’s learning and development.

I am married, have two daughters and would love to welcome your child to my home.
I have always lived in Skipton and do not have any plans to move.


My favourite times with the children are when we are out and about, exploring new and local places, being in nature, singing and dancing, reading books, and talking to them about their interests.

Opening times;
Monday - 7.30 - 16.30 ( term time only)
Tuesday - 7.30 - 17.30
Wednesday - 7.30 - 17.30
Thursday - 7.30- 17.30
Friday - 7.30 - 16.30


I provide Childcare from the age of 9 months to 11 Years old. I can offer funded places to eligible 9-month-olds, 2-year-olds, and all 3- and 4-year-olds.


If there is anything else you need to know, please do not hesitate to contact me between 8.00 and 17.00 Monday through Friday. I will be happy to help.

Physical environment
I work from my home in an end-terraced house on a street. Access is through the front door, and has one step to reach my property. I mainly use the ground floor for childminding and only use the first floor for the bathroom.

I have free-flow outdoor play available to the rear of my house and a park just around the corner of the street. I have two school runs a day 8.30 am and 3.00 pm

While working, I used a variety of childcare services for my child, including a nursery, childminder, and grandparents, so I know how hard it is to juggle work and family.
