My Summary
About Me
* Latest CIW Inspection - 27th Feb 2019 achieved EXCELLENT Rating in ALL areas
* Awarded The Gold Standard Healthy Snack Award
Hi my name is Faye and I am a mum of two beautiful girls who are 15 and 17 years of age and I am happily married to my husband of 22 years.
I offer a warm loving and caring home from home experience with lots of fun things to do, allowing children of all ages to learn, develop and engage in numerous activities in a safe, secure environment that is smoke free.
I have spacious enclosed gardens; a vast variety of toys and equipment to support learning and development and to accommodate all types of play; and a range of books to cater for our monthly themes and different life experiences for babies and children of all ages. New equipment and toys are regularly purchased to refresh, replace, or purchased to support additional learning and fun.
Your children’s wellbeing is (as it should be) at the centre of everything I do, and I have created a rich stimulating outdoor retreat where your child can learn about how things grow, healthy eating and sustainable development goals through meaningful and practical activities gaining further knowledge and understanding of the world around them; ‘making sense of their physical world and their community through fun hands-on experiences to explore, observe and find out’.
I have transformed an allotment plot to enhance your children’s fun, learning and development opportunities. The benefits of having an allotment will assist your child not only in their learning and development; as it will provide additional learning across ALL areas of the Early Years Foundation Phase; life experiences but support their emotional health additionally.
The allotment encourages your children to take responsibility, develop ideas and concepts about a sustainable future, whilst developing fine motor skills and learning about the environment. This is an exciting opportunity, one which I am ambitious and passionate about, supporting the wellbeing and learning and development of the children I care for. Bringing the children so much joy and making a difference to the planet whilst making memories that will last forever.
The allotment consists of the following areas:
• Planters to grow their own fruits, vegetables, and flowers with a mixture of growing conditions – up, down and climbers with areas children can view how vegetables grow underneath the earth. Children will be able to plant, grow, pick and prepare and cook with their produce.
• Bug hotel and spider viewing
• Water butt – discovering rainwater harvesting
• Mud kitchen and soil area – exciting, messy, creative area to play, dig, find, fill, measure and explore. Children will be able to experience sensory, emotional, and imaginative play as well as developing numeracy, science, and communication skills.
• Activity stations, including sand pit for imaginative, sensory, literacy and social play.
• Play area to support physical development.
• Outside seating area – to assist in adult led activities and child-initiated play, to read books on sustainability, growing plants, fruit and vegetables, our planet and to have picnics in the garden.
• Portable sink to maintain effective hygiene procedures
• Free space for constructive play, den building, and wherever the children’s curiosity takes them
Children are taken up the allotment and to local parks and woodlands on a regular basis. During school holidays, I will also provide day trips to local attractions such as St Fagan’s, but also to Zoos and other enjoyable attractions (with written permission gained from parents).
I work in partnership with you to provide the best level of care and attention supporting your child's development during the early years and beyond.
All aspects of your child's development will be catered for following the Early Years Foundation Phase through play with monthly newsletters issued detailing planned theme and activities set for the month ahead.
I record all your child's development monthly; and complete Summative Assessment Reports on how your child has progressed towards EYFP and how I plan to support their learning (through play) to help your child develop further with your guidance and requests.
I have an excellent communication system so that I can work in partnership with you to care for your child’s needs.
Prior to becoming a childminder, I was an NVQ assessor for thirteen years, supporting learners to achieve their maximum potential achieving recognised qualifications, including Hospitality, Customer Service and Management qualifications. I supported each leaner in achieving a minimum of Level 2 qualifications and improving their numeracy and literacy ability. Additionally I was a manager working in McDonalds for four years prior to this. Both these occupations assist me in the role of childminding due to food safety standards that I have to adhere to and observations that I will be carrying out on children, planning for their individual needs following the Early Years Foundation Phase.
We are an English speaking family but I will be actively promoting the Welsh language with children in my care.

Our 2 year old attended Littlens for 6 months, and Faye is everything we could have wanted in a childminder and more. She was caring, honest and kind, and most importantly our daughter was very happy with her. Faye was especially exceptional when it came to ongoing development, safety and wellbeing. Which are some of the most important things for us when considering childcare.
She regularly updated and reviewed her policies, and we received such detailed and lovely updates about our child. We only stopped using Faye as we moved to a different area, otherwise would definitely have continued. Cannot recommend her highly enough!

I would recommend Faye to anyone. She created a fun and safe environment for my little boy and he loved spending time with her and her lovely family.
He experienced so much from messy play, to playing outdoors to day trips and had so much fun he didn't want to leave!!
My son was rather difficult to settle at first being away from me but the patience and care she showed for him paid off and he's become a sociable forward little boy.
A warm loving environment that I would recommend to anyone.
