About Me
I am Jemma, a registered childminder since 2011 on Seymour Road.
I offer spaces for 0-5 year olds, 3 days a week :-) All healthy meals included, forest school activities etc! Just bring a bag with spare clothes, wellies and waterproofs and we're ready to go!
My Experience
EARLY YEARS
I have been a childminder since 2011.
With the little ones, I am often out exploring - whether it is building sandcastles or digging for worms. If we decide to stay in we do messy play, bake, get the play tent out etc.
I like to take the children to farms, on local walks etc. We prefer to be outside!
Children in my care eat healthy meals and snacks throughout the day, all included.
I focus on the development of each child who attends my setting. I love putting together each child’s learning journey full of photographs and art work.

Level 3 Understanding Spoken Language and Communication Difficulties in Children (2015) Open College Network of West Midlands
Level 3 Diploma for the Children’s and Young People’s Workforce (2013) Blackburn College
Autistic and Associated Conditions Training (Hillside Specialist School)
Paediatric First Aid Level 2
Safeguarding Level 1
The Lancashire Common Assessment Framework (CAF) Training and Continuum of need (CON)
As well as my childcare qualifications I also have a Bachelor of Arts Combined Honours Degree: Business and Tourism Management Combined (University of Central Lancashire) and I'm a qualified climbing instructor!
And i swam the english channel in 2023 (I'm passionate about passing on my love of outdoors to my mindees!)

Sometimes I'm able to offer older children a place in the holidays.

my son loved going to jemmas she was warm and caring he enjoyed the days activities and outings to the zoos and parks I would highly recommend great childminder

My daughter has been in the care of Jemma two day per week since May 2013. I was surprised how quickly my daughter settled in and how happy she was. Every morning when we arrive she is so excited to see Jemma. I love how relaxed the atmosphere in Jemma's house is, it's so warm and welcoming. Everyday Jemma has planned activities, she provides fun and constructed learning, I'm always excited to hear my daughter tell me how much of a fantastic day she has had. My daughter has come so far. I would highly recommend Jemma to everyone!

Overall
Jemma has looked after my son fin since last September. She is very enthusiastic and keeps them well occupied. Each day when I pick up he always has lots to chat about his day, and they are always discovering new places to visit, had plenty of updates and pictures. Depending on ages/ number of kids Jemma has she plans day accordingly, if just little ones then its play areas/ parks/ sensory places, but in school hols she also looks after my daughter who's 7,- then it's climbing/ roller skating/ and baking. They always have a fab day. As Jemma comes from a family of childminders there always seems to be flexibility and cover, which is invaluable for a very busy working mum! Will definitely be keeping her services for holiday cover when fin starts school in Sept x
