About Me
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since March 2010. I had my most recent Ofsted Inspection in February 2020 where I received a grade of GOOD which I was over the moon with, copies of my report will be provided upon request.
I have always wanted to be a childminder but circumstances and having my own children prevented me from completing the relevant training. Since I registered in March 2010 I have not looked back. I absolutely love my job and pride myself on offering a safe, secure and comfortable environment, where children can thrive and parents can feel safe in the knowledge that their children are happy in their surroundings and well looked after.
I have been with my husband Steven for 23 yrs, we have 2 children, aged 18 and 13, we are an active happy family who are always on the go! We offer a healthy eating policy, with fresh home cooked meals/ snacks daily.
I work within the EYFS guidelines which provides assurance to parents that my provision will keep their children safe and help them to reach their full potential. I provide a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment and offer children a continuity of care as close to their home environment as possible, as I would like the children in my care to feel 'part of the family'.
I have a well equipped play room, large kitchen, dining room/ play area, quiet area, outside eating area and well stocked rear garden for outside play comprising: climbing tower with slide, sandpit and water play, my garden is split level with both decking, rubber flooring, patio and grass enabling outside safe play in all weathers. I take the children on outings, this includes soft play, parks and also take advantage of local facilities i.e. Libraries, walks, farms etc..
I live on a main route that is easily accessible for parents to drop off their children. I take children to and from YEW TREE PRIMARY SCHOOL/ NURSERY. We have sourced rubber chippings and artificial grass for under the play area so that it is safe and clean for the children to play on.
My Experience
I have babysat for friends and family since the age of 14, with lots of experience of newborn babies and have been a registered childminder since March 2010. I also have 2 of my own children.
During all of my previous jobs I have worked very closely with children of all ages/ stages of development. I feel that I have gained a lot of knowledge along the way working with newborns right up to teenagers!
I have received really good reports for my ofsted inspections. I like to have a good working relationship with parents so I can provide the best possible care for their children at Michelles Childminding. I did my NNEB in Childcare aged 17, have worked with children throughout my working life, obtained my Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People in the workforce, aswell as constantly refreshing my knowledge with online Tameside accredited courses.
I have a wealth of knowledge about Type 1 Diabetes with my own daughter being diagnosed 11 years ago, I know if your own child suffers with this condition how worried you would be about leaving them so rest assured they would be in safe knowledgable hands.

My Availability

I pride myself on being as flexible as possible, I am willing to collect and drop off children from their homes, if able to do so. I will consider any request and will try my best to cater for your needs.
My current working hours are 7.30am - 5.00pm Mon - Fri, this is what is required of myself at the moment but I am willing to consider other hours so please ask.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
Please contact me regarding my fees as these are negotiable or flexible depending on requirements and circumstances. Here at Michelles Childminding I also accept funded 2, 3 & 4 yr olds, childcare vouchers, tax free childcare payments and tax credits.
All outings to play centres etc. are included in cost.
I provide, breakfast, lunch and snacks at no extra cost.
