My Summary
About Me
**OFSTED OUTSTANDING 2022**
One part-time space available.
Hello, I am Clara Lynch, an OFSTED registered Childminder, graded OUTSTANDING in all areas in all inspections. I have been childminding for 17 years and have since gained a First Class BA (Hons) full degree in Early Childhood Studies, following on from a Level 5 qualification in Early Years Leadership and Management. I am also a qualified Level 3 Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
I am DBS checked, have Public Liability Insurance and am a member of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) and am also an accredited support childminder, on hand to support new childminders with my knowledge, skill development, training advice and experience. All of the above has helped to develop a great local support network which is advantageous to the children, parents and to me.
I am very up-to-date in terms of training, safeguarding and legislation and regularly attend Early Years conferences, most recently one highlighting the imporrance of creativity and the everyday implementation of everyday early maths. One conference, in Doncaster, surrounding the issue of Narrowing the Gap between boys' and girls' achievements, provided me with a wealth of information and useful tips to use within the early years provision in order to optimise every child's individual learning and develop opportunities . I always seize training opportunities when they arise and have recently completed a Department for Education Level 3 qualification to become a Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator (SENDCo).
The courses complement my knowledge and abilities so that I am confident and skilled in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum in the best way possible and in an entirely inclusive way.
I have a very holistic approach and consider all aspects of a child when planning activities and experiences. I embrace strong partnerships with parents and am very approachable, welcoming feedback and information which will help the child's development, security and stability.
I cover Southend on Sea, Westcliff on Sea, Leigh on Sea, Thorpe Bay, Shoebury, Rochford and Great Wakering.
I have two daughters who are happy, warm, very bright, funny girls. They love having babies and toddlers in the house and are extremely nurturing and gentle. The children love them.
I currently look after 5 children under 5 and do not offer primary school collections or deliveries, preferring to focus on educare of children in the early years age category. I convey information regarding the children's learning via email, messaging and informal chat at delivery/collection and regularly send photos to visually demonstrate what the children have been participating in. I plan activities, outings and the use of resources based on the child's interests, abilities, information passed to me by parents and through observation. Developmental milestones are monitored within the notion that each child is unique and will develop within their own timescale and in their own, individual way. The Early Years Foundation Framework underpins all that I do.
In order to ease the transition into this childcare setting, I am happy to do initial home visits and create bespoke settling-in programmes. I am also very happy to hold individual parents' evenings on an ad hoc basis, if required by parents. It is crucial that parents share all information relating to their child prior to settling-in to alleviate unnecessary stress for the child. It is important for us to work together to provide all the support required for each child to fully support their transition, stability, happiness and development.
We live in a lovely house close to Southend Victoria station and town centre, as well as St Marys school, St Helens and Milton Hall. We have a play room (for general play such as dressing up, role play, home corner, reading, music, dolls etc) and morning room (for craft activities, woodwork, piano-playing and mealtimes).
The children have access to a huge selection of books and poems and also read e-books with me. This complements the hardcopy books, whilst adding new, interactive technical skills.
We have a nice enclosed garden and a cat.
I have been childminding since 2007 and am delighted to have been graded as OUTSTANDING in all OFSTED inspections. I am qualified to degree level in this field and I am passionate about my work and love being around children. I have very happy, positive, engaged children in the setting and we all communicate and socialise extremely well, resulting in a calm and nurturing environment. We enjoy cuddles whilst reading (and whenever needed) when the children are engaging in a bit of down-time. The dynamics work well and I am always conscious of maintaining that when introducing a new child into the group. I offer a trial period to ensure that everyone is happy before we proceed on a permanent basis.

Safeguarding
I have my own allergic child and, therefore, have experience and training in anaphylaxis, asthma and allergies as well as hypermobility. I also identify and avoid any additional allergens or irritants which may be unique to a child. Children with allergies are very welcome to bring their own food and parents/carers of babies with dairy intolerances/allergies are encouraged to leave a supply of their specific milk powder at the setting. Medication is kept secure and administration of medicine is always recorded and signed by parents.
I charge an hourly rate and invoice in advance by bank transfer, standing order or childcare vouchers (including tax-free vouchers)
My Experience
Please see above. I previously worked in Buying and Merchandising for Selfridges, Oxford Street and then Burberry (for 18 years) and then realised my passion of working with children. It is so much more rewarding, personally, to look after children than my previous career and it is a privilege to be a part of such a crucial part of their lives. I am very warm, smiley and friendly and calm. I always have a ready, listening ear for any child who wants a chat and love to read and sing with the children..

Clara cared for our daughter for nearly three years, from 10 months to 3.5 years old. Our experience was extremely positive, and I would 100% recommend Clara. We found her to be nurturing, supportive, creative and dedicated. Our daughter loved going to Clara’s house, and was always very settled and happy in the setting. Clara supported Rae (and us) as we navigated teething, nap transitions, behavioral development and everything in between. We found Clara to be diligent, great at communicating, and totally reliable. A truly wonderful childminder.
Clara has had both our boys... our eldest is now 4 and has been with Clara since he was 9 month old, our youngest who is nearly two has been with Clara since he was 9 months old and will be with her for a good while yet.
My boys go into claras home and barely look back, because they are so happy and well cared when they are there. They are treated with kindness and given plenty of experiences for learning , developing socially, educationally and emotionally while having fun.
They both love her.
It is daunting finding someone you trust to care for your children but with Clara we have felt completely at ease. Clara keeps in excellent contact with us, she feeds them well with nutritious food, plans fun and educational activities and is completely reliable, this is so important for us as we are working.
We feel so lucky to have had such a wonderful childcare experience for our boys and we are so greatful for the care they get with Clara. Her home environment is so lovely for children, they receive consistency of care and lots of dedicated attention that would be difficult in another setting.
I honestly couldn't recommend Clara more highly.
Clara is a great childminder. My little girl has been going to her since she was 10 months old (she’s just over two now) and I honestly felt comfortable returning to work knowing that Clara would be looking after her.
Each child gets dedicated care and attention in Clara’s homely setting, it feels like Maeve is one of the family when I drop her off and pick her up.
The communication is brilliant, I get text and picture updates throughout the day and Clara will always respond if you have a question. Plus Clara is very flexible with adapting to my work schedule.
Clara is very supportive and knowledgable in early years education. The daily activities for the children are always fun and varied plus they often go out for park and beach adventures. My little girl loves singing nursery rhymes with Clara and has learnt so much since attending the setting.
I would highly recommend Clara as a childminder, I feel very lucky that I found such a safe, fun and nurturing setting for Maeve.
My daughter was born just before the first lockdown and was very attached and I was worried about transition to a childcare setting - I shouldn’t have been. Clara, was brilliant with easing my under one into her care. She has excellent communication skills so I can see what Aida has been up to that day and it’s lovely to see photos of your child happily playing and enjoying so many enriching experiences.
Aida has come on leaps and bounds in her social skills and speech and is so eager to give things a go and we credit this to the care and support she receives with Clara. The days are always busy full of learning and playing and we couldn’t recommend Clara highly enough.
My daughter Eleanor started with Clara when she was one.
As a first time mum I was nervous and anxious about leaving Eleanor, but Clara's home is so warm with a real comfortable feel to it that these feelings quickly disappeared. Clara is very professional and you instantly know that she loves what she does and is very passionate about it.
I wanted Eleanor to have structure to her day in an environment that stimulated her learning, which Clara provided. Any area of learning started at home would be reinforced by Clara, which really helped Eleanor to grasp new concepts.
Lovely lady and so sad to be leaving her.
