About Me
Hi im Harriet, I am an OFSTED registered childminder I Iive along the Shipbourne road. I have three children, they are getting old now as I started childminding when my oldest was 1. My hobbies outside of work are crocheting, the gym, studying for my nutrition level 4, lots of walks and seeing the family and friends.
I have a love for being outside exploring what Mother Nature has to offer us.
I am now looking forward to starting my new journey in becoming an accredited hygge leader this will help me to bring my love of nature into all aspects of your child’s learning journey whilst in my care. It follows a lot of Montessori teachings whilst creating a calm environment at home. I try to include as much natural resources into the play inside the home, we will often find treasure on our adventures that we bring back home to carry on playing with.
The children love hygge time where we talk around the carpet each week about ourselves, our themes and anything else the children wish to share, we also have hygge meal times and the children all now know that hygge means “when we are all together”.
I follow a different theme each week which is linked to a letter, story and a shape. I will always base a theme around the outside eg rain, stones, flowers and butterflies and then we have toys/resources around that theme for everyone to play and develop their imagination as well as understanding of the outside world. I listen to their curiosity and engagement and chose a theme around that. The children at the moment are really interested in the moon and rainbows so I will incorporate those into our learning. The children are really thriving and their number as well as literacy skills are developing rapidly even in the 2year olds I look after.
I always want my children I care for to feel like Harriet’s house is their second home as well as the children all feeling like they are all loved like they would at home. I offer a home from home setting with plenty of learning opportunities in the woods, the garden, green spaces and inside my home. I have a very large circle of childminding friends whom we see most days, the children have so many friends here and get to enjoy quieter times in the afternoons or on days when we are home. My meals are freshly cooked daily, I believe in fresh nutritionally balanced meals which are homemade each day.
My Experience
I have been a registered child-minder since 2007 my latest ofsted grading is good.
In my years of child-minding I have cared for children aged 5mths-11yrs, children with additional needs & where English is a second language.
My Qualifications
I have a level 3 in childcare;
First aid;
Safegaurding;
Nutrition & food standards,
Safer food;
EYFS;
Communication & Language;
Supporting children with speech language & communication needs.
I've completed an nutritional course
I am currently studying for my accreditation In hygge in the early years.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour

Harriet is hard working and flexible to your needs. The younger ones do a lot of activities with her which increases their learning capabilities. The kids are always fed well and looked after. I am relaxed when my kids are with Harriet and don't worry about their wellbeing at work. I simply think she is good at what she does.
