About Me
I registered as a childminder in 1994 and have two grown up children of my own. I have a vast range of qualifications and experiences which I have obtained professionally and in my role as a mother.
I obtained my NVQ3 in 2007 and I was very proud to have completed my Herts Quality Standards within a year as this was a pilot scheme that Hertfordshire offered. The course was an excellent reflective experience which enabled me to assess my setting and the way I implement the EYFS to the children I care for. An extremely positive outcome from this reflective journey was I had a cabin purpose built which enabled me to have my resources and equipment on the children's level which gives opportunities for child initiated play.
I aim to accommodate families needs, working in partnership with parents to ensure the children's individual needs are meet.
I attend local play groups, parks, forest and story times as I feel this a strong foundation to enable children to feel confident and build on their self esteem.
Working in partnership is my paramount concern, as no one knows their child better than the parent/carer and together we will be the primary educators for your child.
My last Ofsted inspection went well and received A grade of Good in all areas of learning.
My Experience
My experience in child care is vast, ranging from working with babies and being a mother to 30 year old twin girls.
I have worked with children with special needs which involved working with outside agencies to support the children's individual needs.
I honestly would say having my own children has enabled me to gain more experience and knowledge than any course I have attended or qualification I have gained. I now understand the needs of a parent and the feelings you feel when leaving your children for the first time.
