About Me

Hello, my name is Stella.
I run an Outstanding childminding setting in Worle.
We are Qualified to level 6 in Early years and are dedicated to providing quality care and learning enviroment for all children in our care.

We are approved and accredited so can receive any of the funding availible. we also fully encorage vouchers that are availble from most employers.

To tell you a little about myself and my setting.
I am 34 years old, a mother of two girls aged 15 and 6 and happily married to Mark. We live in Worle in an extended 3 bed house. We love child minding and have made many changes to our house to ensure it works for the children we care for.
Childcare is my passion, I thrive on creating an environment that the children can gain all the skills they need to have bright and successful futures. This all takes a lot of time, planning and knowledge, it is for this reason I have spent three years completing a BA Hons in early years (this is a level 6 qualification).
I became a childminder nearly 6 years ago, while on maternity leave with my second daughter. Unlike many childminders my aim was not to spend more time with my new baby. I had already been in childcare for many years, managing a nursery. During my leave I became good friends with a childminder and discovered that childminders could provide such amazing, flexible care for the children, and have the freedom to use the wider community to extend the child's learning experiances. I decided to become a childminder myself. Childminding can be hard work as we do everything nurseries an preschools do, but it is worth every moment to see how much fun the children have. We love it and would not look back now.
Along with myself, I have an assistants, Jemma..
Jemma joined me 3 years ago and come with plenty of enthusiasm and experience. She has experience of beeing a Mum of her 7 year old son, and has been volunteering in child care settings including ourselves over the past year before pursing her passion for this career. Jemma has completed her level 3 in early years and is starting her BA hons in Early years in Sept 16.
Mark works full time elsewhere; however he enjoys spending time off joining us taking the children for day trips etc.
We have recently decided to embrace the Montessori ethos and become a Montessori setting. To do this we have changed all our resources and playroom to create a wonderful learning environment.

Network groups (same as preschools but for childminders to get together with their children of all ages)
