About Me
Hi, I am an Ofsted registered childminder with over 20 years of experience.
I only offer school wrap around care for Barrow Hedges School, which is very close to my home. I do not look after babies and toddlers so the school children are given my full attention.
My own children are also grown up.
I have a nice house on the Carshalton Beeches/ Sutton borders, with a large garden equipped with swings/slides toys, football and other ball games etc. We do lots of activities, arts & crafts, baking, games etc and have lots of fun. There is also a quiet space for children to relax, read or do homework.
I am a very easy-going and friendly person and the children all love coming here.
I have a very friendly little cockapoo dog who loves everyone and the children really enjoy playing with him.
I am fully insured for child care and DBS checked.
My Experience
I was a foster carer for five years, during which I underwent a lot of childcare training. This gave me a lot of experience of looking after all sorts of children with the rewards and challenges that caring for children brings.
I then went into childminding. I have had a break to look after my own children and have completed the Sutton Ofsted childminding course and many subsequent childcare training courses, so I am very up to date on the current Ofsted childcare regulations.
I have vast experience of childcare, being a mother of 2 girls and 2 boys and numerous nephews and nieces and plenty of children in my role as a carer. I have been childminding for Barrow Hedges school for the last twelve years and have children from reception to year six.
My Qualifications
Numerous GCSE and A level qualifications.
Various child care training courses whilst being a foster carer and childminder.
London Borough of Sutton childcare course, plus various updated childcare courses.
Paediatric First Aid training.
Many ongoing childcare training courses.
My Availability
7.30-9 am and/or 3-6 pm
Term time only.
From 3 to age 11years.

Clare has been looking after our two boys for several years. They are always so happy to go to Clare's and feel really comfortable there. Clare has a wonderful, natural way of making the children feel welcome and at ease, and at helping them to get along well together. The older children form lovely relationships with the younger children, which also helps the younger ones feel more settled at school. Clare is also great at coming up with fun and creative ways to celebrate holidays and children's birthdays. She is always thinking of new ways to keep the children engaged and having fun, while also being mindful of when they need some quiet time to recharge after a busy day. Clare is also very good at communicating with parents, which we really appreciate.

We have always felt very comfortable leaving our son with Clare, knowing that Clare provides a caring, friendly environment and uses the time constructively, providing activities such as arts/crafts/games. Our son actively looks forward to the days he spends at Clare’s.

Our son started with Clare for after school care in September at the same time when he started school.
Right from the first time we met Clare, she has been very professional and transparent. She took the time to get to understand our little one by asking about his likes and dislikes etc. Clare's got a lovely house with lots of toys and outdoor play equipment which is perfect for kids of all ages. She offers wonderful activities like painting, craft, dress up and celebrating different cultures. Our son loves going to Clare and tells us that he wants her to pick him up everyday! He absolutely loves playing with the dogs and can't stop talking about them. He also loves interacting with other children and loves talking about them too.
We are very thankful to Clare for providing such great care for our little one. It is very reassuring to know that our child is happy and enjoys his time away from home.
Very glad that we found Clare and would have no issues recommending her.

My Daughter started in the mornings with Clare in September, she used to attend a breakfast club but I wanted her to have a more homely setting before school, and I’m so glad I chose Clare.
I met with Clare before my daughter started and she showed me her house and the things she does which was lovely as my daughter and I new what to expect.
Clare has been amazing with my daughter who has additional needs, my daughter feels comfortable around Clare and absolutely loves the mornings knowing she is going to Clare’s house. She loves seeing the dogs and has been much happier in the mornings since starting. So can’t thank Clare enough for making the mornings fun for my daughter and less stressful for me!
Clare is great with communicating and is very friendly and approachable.
I would highly recommend Clare as a childminder!

Clare has from day 1 been very transparent with her policies and setup, so it is easy to understand.
She is very pleasant and easy to talk to. She also take her responsibilty very seriously, so the children are always in a safe and healthy surrounding.
We can depend on Clare and she takes her role very seriously.
Our son enjoys beeing at Clare's. He greatly missed her during the lockdown.

My little one had the same childminder since she was a baby, so I was a little apprehensive about swapping childminders when she went to school.
However, I signed up with Clare as soon as I met her! She has a lovely house full of toys and does lots of different things with the children. My daughter's pack is full of drawings and things she has made every evening. Clare provides a warm, "home from home" environment and I like that she has a range of different age groups as it also means my daughter can interact with lots of different children.
My daughter has settled in perfectly since September which is all the more appreciated given the crazy world in which we're currently living!
I'd highly recommend Clare if you need excellent wrapround care for Barrow Hedges School.

My two boys felt comfortable and at ease with Clare from the very first day they started with her. She is friendly, approachable and sets good boundaries. I feel that the time my children spend at Clare's house is not just childcare but that it positively develops them in may ways - they play different games, arts and crafts and she does various topical activities with them. She is really patient and understanding. They love the variety of toys at her house. They really look forward to going there. It gives me such peace of mind as I can go to work and I know they are are happy and well. Clare is such a gem and I am so pleased we found her. Thank you Clare!

Clare has provided outstanding care to my two children for the last 7 years.
She has offered a homely environment, good food, great toys and wonderful seasonal and cultural activities.
The children would regularly leave Clare's clutching a painting, craft piece or a cake they had baked.
Clare has supported us as a family and regularly goes above and beyond. The time is nearing for my youngest to stop needing her, we will both be very sad when this day comes!

My children aged 8 and 6 absolutely love their time with Clare after school. She provides a great range of activities which they talk warmly about and often bring things home which they’ve enjoyed making. Clare really puts thought and effort into her time with the children and it certainly shows. I would have no hesitation in recommending Clare highly, she is friendly and welcoming to both parents and children.

Our daughter goes 3 days in a week to Clare and she is having wonderful time there. She is so happy in her house. Clare always helps her to improve her self-confidence and independence. We always sure that our daughter are in a safe environment. Clare arranges really good activities to help kids to improve their skills. Also, thanks to Clare's dog, she is now more confident with the pets.
