My Summary
About Me
Hello. My name is Emma. I am a loving, caring, enthusiastic, dedicated, experienced childcare professional with lots of common sense and a practical approach to life. I have a great passion for looking after children, guiding and watching them develop physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I have learnt these skills during the 20+ years I have been in this truly fulfilling profession.
I am happily married with 2 children. I have a 13 year old daughter, who attends secondary school in Sunbury-on-Thames, and a 6 year old daughter who is at primary school in Hampton.
I am looking for 4 days a week (ideally Monday Thursday) in a nanny postion where I can look after and care for the child / children in their own home. I may consider 3 days a week for the right employer / role. I am looking for a family that would let me bring my youngest daughter to work on occasions during the school holidays, which had worked out fantastically to work during my most recent employments. I have a number of references to back this up also.
I have a full, clean driving licence and access to my own car which is insured for business and personal use.
I was really sad to leave my most recent position. They have been accomodating to me and my daughters' needs but it has become necessary as the boy I was looking after has progressed to nursey.
I know my girls will also find it difficult as the family I look after and my family have developed a strong bond.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Please get in touch if you think I am the nanny for you and your child(ren). Emma
My Experience
Twenty (plus) years experience with a range of children of differing ages, both boys and girls.
I have worked for several families during the last 20+ years, since I qualified as a nanny and I have used my Maternity Nurse qualification during several of these employments.
The families I have worked with have had children with ages ranging from newborn to 8 years. This has included twins and multiple siblings as well as premature babies and those suffering from severe reflux. As a nanny I support the families in their needs, aswell as supporting them with breastfeeding, potty training, weaning, sleep training and routine ,aswell as taking the child or children to baby/toddler class to help their social development. I also like fun activities at home such as getting the paint out and being creative, aswell as thinking of the next stages of their development to make them independent and confident children.
I have experience of nanny-sharing and of multicultural employment also.
Aside from being a nanny and maternity nurse I have also been a nursery play leader.

Emma was the most brilliant nanny to our boy from age 5 months old up to 1 year when he has now gone to nursery (this was a pre-set timeline due to our finances and no reflection on Emma whatsoever).
She did so much to support his weaning journey, teaching us and him all about nutrition for babies and preparing delicious meals for him, she supported me hugely in the emotional journey of returning to work from maternity leave, and she kept our son very happily entertained with an array of thoughtful activities. His face absolutely lights up every time she comes round!
Her girls are also a delight and having them here in their school holidays gave him more interaction.
Any family looking for a nanny needs to look no further!
Emma was a nanny to our daughter, caring for her from 13 months until 4.5 years old when she started school (Autumn 2022). Emma did an absolutely fantastic job. She supported us all as a family and helped with sleeping, weaning and breast feeding in the early stages, potty training later on and encouraging our daughter to be independent. Emma took our daughter to some great baby groups and fun outings and introduced her to lots of creative and educational activities. She always responded to our daughter's needs and interests and I thoroughly trusted Emma with the care of our daughter. It worked very well on the occasions when Emma brought her daughter to work with her and her daughter is now a good friend with our daughter. Emma remains a good friend of ours and we still seek her advice.
We are two friends who have been in a nanny share arrangement for our two children for 4 years. Emma covered the maternity leave of our permanent nanny for 8 months (March – November 2012) during our nanny’s maternity leave. Emma also brought her own daughter to work with her most days.
Emma is a sensible, practical and kind person who cares for the children well, with the right balance of nurture and discipline.
During her time with us we were impressed by her initiative in organising activities for the children, including playdates with other children from the nursery our children attend; cooking, painting and general play at home as well as the occasional outing e.g. Kew / Farm/ Fruit picking. She also encouraged the children to try new food and cooked fresh nutritional meals on a daily basis.
Her timekeeping was excellent and she was very conscientious about her job. Her daughter is a delight – our children adored her (and remain in contact) and Emma was very good at balancing the needs of the children in her care with those of her daughters.
We would definitely recommend Emma. If you are considering Emma for a role and would like to talk to us about her please do not hesitate to contact us (via Emma).
