About Me
Hi, my name is Laura, and I've been registered with Ofsted since July 2012 and trained as a childminder since March 2011. (I took time off with my my youngest for maternity leave before setting up as a childminder!) I live in Muscliff with my husband and our two daughters who are 13 and 20 years old.
I aim to provide a warm, friendly and fun home from home environment where children are encouraged to learn and grow through creative child led play.
I can offer a well equipped dedicated playroom, a large enclosed garden with a playframe, wall climbing wall, slide, mud kitchen, water table, sand table, chalkboard and lots more! We have a crazy but friendly Cocker Spaniel.
I love to get the children out and about and exploring their natural environment in all weathers so wellies and rain suits are a must for each of my messy crew!
We have a huge range of toys from newborn to 100! I also offer trips to the beach, local parks and other day trips to museums, libraries, the oceanarium, farms, art galleries and other places of interest to ensure a good breadth of experiences for each child. I regularly meet with other childminders to ensure that the children are socialised and meet a range of children from a number of varying backgrounds.
In my setting, children are encouraged to reach their full potential and activities are tailored appropriately for each child whilst still encouraging the children to try new things. Children are also encouraged to explore their surroundings and develop their knowledge and understanding of the world and I place a keen focus on building each child's confidence and empathy for others to help them make the right choices.

My Experience
I have two children of my own, the eldest is 20 and the youngest is 13. Additionally, I was a teenager when my mum had my brother and sister. I have 18 nephews and nieces also so am completely used to being covered in food, snot and wet kisses!!
I have been childminding since December 2012 and am throughly enjoying seeing each child develop and grow. My favourite sound has to be hearing the children giggle and snigger from their own jokes!!
My Qualifications
I hold a full enhanced DBS check as do my husband and my team of assistants.
We all hold valid paediatric first aid certificates and are registered with Ofsted and the local authority childminding team.
I carried out my childminding training with the local authority - BIQCP

My Availability
I am available from 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Hours outside of this would be negotiable and charged at a higher rate.
I am also available for holiday cover for school children on a pre-booked basis.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
£6.00 per hour between 8am and 5.30pm. Fees are payable one month in advance by the 1st of a month.
I accept Childcare vouchers and am currently registered with VSL, Edenred, Sodexo, Kiddivouchers and Computershare. I’m registered with the government’s tax free childcare scheme. I am registered to accept the Two's Too funding, 15 hours funding for 9months, 2, 3 & 4 year old children and the extended entitlement to 30 hour funding.
I am also actively involved in the LA Community Childminder scheme.
My Local Schools
This childminder has not yet informed us whether or not they provide any drop off or pick up services at local schools.

Laura is very professional and caring and has made every effort to welcome our 11-month-old daughter as though she were part of the family. The children do different and interesting activities every day and my daughter always has a great time, so much so that sometimes she doesn't want to go home! We are very impressed with Laura and I would not hesitate to recommend her as a childminder.

My daughter started with Laura when she was just 7 months old. As a single mum I had to go back to work full time and was devastated to leave my baby. I visited several childminder settings and the more I visited the more anxious I became. When I visited Laura, not only did I know she was the right childminder for me I also knew she would become a good friend.
Today was my daughters last day at MessyArticles as she is 4 years old and is due to start school. But she's been with Laura for almost 4 years Monday - Friday. I'm the car on the way home my daughter sobbed because she already missed Laura.
Laura provides a loving, caring and wonderful setting and provides more than a standard childminder. She provides fun, laughter and not important of all Love. She will love your child and protect your child as if her own.
My daughter is such an incredibly intelligent, conscientious and amazing little girl and I owe a lot of that to Laura and her care.
Without a doubt she is the best Childminder for your child and I can assure you will feel happy and confident to leave your babies with her as they will be well looked after, and extremely loved.

Having tried various holiday clubs and childcare schemes I feel so relieved to have found a childminder who I can not only trust, but with whom I can leave my 7 year old son with knowing he is going to have so much fun in a safe, clean and nurturing environment. He came home chatting and laughing about his day and asking when he could return! Thank you Laura- see you in the next holidays!
