Hi my name is Amy.
My hobbies include spending time with my family, taking my children swimming, biking, walking and anything outdoors (I'm not a stay in the house person). My daughters pony seems to keep me fairly busy too! I also really enjoy cooking and love to try out new recipies on my willing husband!!!
My Experience
My career started in Surrey and I have had lots of varied experience working in childcare over 20 years. I started out my career working in a day nursery gaining experience of the Montessori teaching method earning promotion very quickly to room leader.
I needed a new challenge and decided to become a nanny working with 2 separate families, I gained baby experience, experience with twins and school age children. I learnt to work closely with each family developing great working relationships with the parents to suit each families individual needs.
I married my husband and moved to Oxfordshire where I became an early years practitioner in a school working with children from all different backgrounds, languages and special needs. I have gained valuable teaching experience and a good understanding of the early years curriculum.
After having my first daughter I decided to nanny again working with a Military family proving to be very flexible to suit their work requirements and being very supportive whilst the mother was deployed for 4 months. I was also very privileged to be able to take my own daughter with me.
My family returned to Oxfordshire in 2015. I worked as a Special needs teaching assistant supporting children with Autism, speech and language difficulties and developmental delays and teaching children from reception class to year 2. I found this a thoroughly rewarding job and gained a real sense of achievement.
I’m currently working at a nursery in Surrey taking particular interest in teaching the children early maths skills as well as phase 1 phonics.
I am looking to work 1-3 days a week. Between 8 - 30 hrs.
I am not looking for after school only positions.
