About Me
Welcome to Emma’s Childminding
Hello! My name is Emma, and I’ve been an OFSTED-registered childminder since 2010. I live in Walkwood, just opposite The Bramley Cottage Pub, in a spacious end-of-terrace home with my husband, our two children, and our three friendly guinea pigs.
A Home-from-Home Setting
My setting offers a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can feel safe, happy, and confident. I provide a dedicated childcare space with its own entrance, cloakroom, toilet/wet room, playroom, and craft room. Our enclosed garden is fully secure and monitored by CCTV, offering all-day access to outdoor fun with:
Trampoline, slide, and sandpit
Ride-on toys, scooters, and bikes
Pop-up tents, tunnels, and a paddling pool (weather permitting)
Tables and chairs for outdoor crafts and snacks
Learning Through Play
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to support each child’s learning and development until they move on to preschool or school. I take time to understand each child’s routines, interests, and needs, tailoring activities to help them thrive.
Children enjoy a wide variety of activities, including:
Creative crafts: painting, playdough, gluing, and sticking
Role-play, small world play, puzzles, and board games
Singing, reading, and mark-making
Daily outings to parks, nature trails, toddler groups, soft play, and the library
I also regularly meet with other local childminders, giving children the chance to build friendships and social skills through group playdates and outings.
Partnership with Parents
I understand how hard it can be to leave your child with someone new. That’s why I prioritise strong communication and trusting relationships with families. I provide regular updates throughout the day via text and welcome phone calls whenever needed. I also encourage messages from parents so we can work together to support your child’s well-being.

My Experience
With over 16 years of experience as a dedicated childminder, I’ve had the privilege of supporting many children through their early years while also raising my own two. This dual role has given me a deep understanding of child development, patience, and the importance of creating a nurturing, home-from-home environment. My personal and professional experiences have shaped me into a confident, compassionate, and adaptable caregiver who truly loves what I do.
I absolutely love watching children grow, learn, and thrive in my setting. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of their early development and to support their unique journeys. Being a childminder isn't just a job for me—it's something I truly love and feel passionate about every day.
Funding is offered term time only (38 weeks of the year) for 9 months until their 3rd birthday (When your child turns 3 years old, they are usually ready to transition to a nursery setting with children of similar ages where they can claim their funded hours for the following term)
I offer a welcoming, home-from-home setting where children feel safe, valued, and happy. Every day is filled with fun, laughter, and learning through play. I’m passionate about creating a nurturing environment where children can grow in confidence and enjoy being themselves.
As both a parent and a childminder, I truly understand how difficult it can be to leave your child with someone new. That’s why I work hard to create a warm, trusting, and home-from-home environment where both children and parents feel comfortable and supported. Building strong, open relationships with families is at the heart of what I do. To offer reassurance, I’m happy to send updates throughout the day via text and welcome phone calls whenever needed.
I take the time to get to know each child as an individual—their likes, dislikes, routines, and unique personality. This helps me to plan activities and care that are tailored to their interests and developmental needs, making sure they feel secure, happy, and engaged every day
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to support each child’s learning and development from the moment they join my setting until they move on to preschool or school. This ensures they receive high-quality care and education tailored to their individual needs, helping them build strong foundations for the future.

These shared experiences give children the chance to form friendships beyond my setting, helping them develop important social skills and confidence in a wider group environment. It’s a lovely way for them to build relationships both inside and outside of my care.
Strong Parent Partnerships
I prioritise open and consistent communication with parents. I share detailed updates about your child’s day, including what they’ve enjoyed, learned, and achieved. I also welcome messages from you throughout the day—whether it’s to check in or share something important—so we can work together to support your child’s well-being and development. My boy (just turned 1) really enjoyed his time with Emma. She had lots of activities to keep him busy when they’re home like painting and play with lots of toys. She also take him out to baby group/park. Can totally see that he likes her when I drop him off. She also follow exact dietary requirement for my boy as he has milk protein allergy. Have to add that her house is squeaky clean. I totally recommend Emma as trustworthy and caring childminder.

have been using emma as a childminder since Dec 2012 for my 4yr old and 7 month old and i got to say she is brilliant. Her home is warm and welcoming with many things to keep the children entertained and also takes them to a toddler group so they get to go out and about. emma has been very flexible with my needs and requirements and my children just love her. my 7 month old daughter has now settled and my 4 year old son gets excited when i tell him we are going to emmas. Iv used nurseries in the past but have found this to be much more better and i would recommend her to anyone!
