About Me
My name is Michelle Thompson, I am an OFSTED registered Childminder working from my home in the Oakley Vale area of Corby, Northants.
I live with my husband Martin and my three children whose ages range from 16 to 21 years. All adults in the house have been CRB or DBS checked.
My Experience
I have a wealth of experience having previously been employed by Northamptonshire Social Services, Mencap, Tresham College and Danesholme Infant Academy. I have also been a respite foster carer.
My Qualifications
I hold a level 6 qualification, I have a First Class BA Hons in Integrated Working with Children and their Families in the Early Years). I am also qualified to NVQ level three in British Sign Language. I regularly update my paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene training inline with the statutory requirements for childcare providers. In January 2024 I completed training to become an ELKLAN Accredited Communication Friendly Setting then in the same year I finished the Early Years Professional Development Programme.
My Availability
I have part time space available from April 2025 with full time vacancies in September. I am not able to offer before and after school care.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
For childminding I charge £5.50 per hour, this includes lunch and dinner. For babysitting in your own home I charge £15.00 per hour.

My little boy has been going to Michelle for 19 months now. He started there aged 15 months, after a very unsettled start at a local nursery. We immediately felt at ease with Michelle, and decided that she would be the best person to look after our little boy. Taking him out of the nursery and entrusting him with Michelle was the best decision we could have made! Michelle and her family live in a clean and tidy house, with a dedicated playroom, downstairs toilet facilities and a huge garden equipped with slide, climbing frame, playhouse, a rabbit and chickens! Michelle and the children rarely have a day when they don't leave the house...she takes them to various toddler groups, the library, to the shops, to cafes and to hundreds of different playgrounds and country parks. Michelle prepares freshly made meals which I am told my little boy loves (he often has at least two helpings!)
We have noticed such a difference in our little boy since he has been with Michelle...it has been lovely to see him develop into a confident, chatty and independent little man. Michelle is also always looking for ways to continually improve her practice by attending evening and weekend courses related to child development.
If anyone is looking for a childminder I would not hesitate to recommend Michelle. I am happy to provide a reference, or speak personally to anyone who may be considering Michelle as a childminder...you won't be disappointed!

I was really pleased when Michelle looked after my daughter, i wanted somebody that i felt she was safe with, had the same approach to looking after my child as i did , somewhere that my daughter would be played with and taken out doing different activities and given healthy food, i found all this at michelles, the house is clean safe environment for the kids and you can tell by michelles own children how polite and well behaved they are and how happy, that environment is what your own child will be around therefore felt at ease leaving my child with michelle. I also found michelle to be very thorough and professional taking pride in her job and making sure all her standards are to the highest so what more could you want for your child :)
