About Me
Hi, I am an OFSTED registered childminder working just outside Durham City in Belmont/Carrville close to the A1 and A690. I have four children of my own (only 2 still at home and now working young adults) plus two grand daughters. I have worked as a childminder since 2006 and absolutely love it. I make it a home from home for the children and keep them busy with a variety of activities and outings as well as lots of cuddles and fun. I have a large playroom with lots of toys and resources, also a lounge with comfy sofas for quiet time or stories. I have a grassy enclosed garden to play in with a playhouse, sand, slide, ride on toys and lots more, straight off the playroom. I am part of a group of childminders who meet regularly for walks and outings, we also provide cover for each other if necessary. I have my own vehicle and we go out most days. I am outgoing, patient and friendly and love the cinema, cycling and theatre in my spare time (not that I get much spare time!)
My Experience
Having children of my own has given me a wealth of experience as no two children are the same. I attend courses and have gained a lot of knowledge over the years, keeping up to date with safeguarding, first aid, mental health NVQ and SEND. I am qualified to BTEC level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development and attend relevant additional training in my own time. I have looked after children from 5 months to eleven years old and have a good knowledge of how to stimulate and entertain children of different ages and ability. I have embraced childrens needs from other cultures, and looked after children with severe allergies, autism and delayed development. I love to get children outside exploring the world they live in and teaching them new things. I work closely with parents and ensure you are kept updated of how their day goes. Having used a childminder myself, I appreciate how hard it is to trust someone with the care of your baby but will work to reassure you.
My Qualifications
I have passed my NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Development, NVQ in Mental Health and Paediatric First Aid. I am insured and a member of Childcare. co. uk. I have also attended courses on safeguarding level 2 special educational needs and autism. I am on the County Council childcare register.
My Availability
Full or part time places available. I also take funded children. I have my own transport for local schools and nurseries. Currently working 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
£6.00 per hour. I can negotiate term time requirements if needed.
