My Summary
About Me
Hi,
I'm Heather, I am an Ofsted registered GOOD childminder.
I offer care and positive learning opportunities for children.
I do pick up and drop offs to Waddington Redwood Primary Academy and I have my own two sons who also attend the school.
I live with my husband Mat, and my two boys aged 5 and 9.
We extended our home in 2019 to create a play room and downstairs toilet as well as knock around a few walls downstairs to enable us to have a kitchen diner and generally more space with a better layout. One thing we are proud of and that all the children love is our outdoor area, we have artificial grass surrounding our in ground trampoline, a climbing frame, play house, stepping logs, digging area, sand pit and just generally lots of space. Both our outdoor and indoor areas are continually being developed, finished off and just generally made better where we can and dependant on the children we have in and whatever ideas they seem to have! My husband Mat is a joiner so I've been making the plans and he's been the lucky one to complete them all! His list is long!
Myself, I've worked in childcare now for over 16 years, with a HUGE variety of ages of children, from babies aged just 6 weeks old, up to mid teens of 16 years old. I've worked in senior roles within nurseries and Out of school clubs as well as 5 years working closely with families as a Nanny.
I have a great array of knowledge and skills from my experience in childcare as well as my BA honours degree in Early Childhood Studies and Level 3 in Childcare and Education.
Your child will be part of a homely setting with fun and exciting opportunities for play and learning, specific to them as an individual. I can't wait to have the chance to help your children grow and develop, it's one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Im forever on the look out for new things for the children that I know they'll love, and see the setting as forever being developed and improved. I love rummaging through the charity shops to find the odd treasure for my little treasures :)
I have a cleared CRB/DBS check under the position of 'child minder'.
My DBS along with all of my certificates and proof of qualifications, and references will be shown on request and you can see my Ofsted Certificate displayed on the wall of the playroom.
Feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
My Experience
Ages noted were the ages of the children at the beginning of me starting care with them.
Between July 2014 and August 2019 I cared for several families via Nannying. Some alongside each other (doing different days across the week with each of them), and some who knew each other together on occasion as a Nanny share.
A summary of my role and responsibility whilst a Nanny in each of the families homes was generally caring for the children, providing them with a stable and reliable adult, and where needed providing them with relevant routine and boundaries. Depending on their age I provided activities, games, story time, song time etc suitable to their interests and abilities. I provided resources to stimulate further development and interest. I planned and prepared creative, hands on and sometimes messy activities. I also took the children to and from school where required and regularly took the children in my care out for days out.
From July 2014 to present, here is a list of the children and their ages that I looked after, their ages are at the beginning of the time that
The children aged from 6 weeks, up to 15, families of 1, 2, 3 and even 5 children. A couple of families with twins, from 2 years of age at the beginnkng of my time with them, and twins aged 8 at the beginning of my time with them.
I have been lucky to create some lovely relationships with the children I have cared for, as well as with their parents and family too, and feel very lucky to have been part of their childhood, some for less than a year and some families for up to 3 years, and more.
Before working as a Nanny, my experience with childcare has been in a variety of settings with different ages of children. I have worked within an After school club as a Manager, this was great fun! I love being with the older children and the characters they develop and being able to have conversations with them, plus they taught me some good games which I still remember and share with the older children I care for now.
I have worked within senior roles within a Nursery, from working within the baby room, up to the pre-school room and as Deputy and Manager level.
I have also worked within a Refuge close with families.
As a childminder I aim to provide a friendly and caring service for families around the area, providing fun and stimulating learning and play opportunities, and believe the knowledge, experience and skills that I have allow me to do so.

Heather has looked after my 9 year old twins for nearly 2 years and is a great asset to our family.
She is creative and inspiring; always thinking of different activities, days out and craft to do with the children and keeps them engaged at all times. They really enjoy spending time with her and have adopted Jacob (Heather's 2 year old son) as a little brother.
If your looking for someone who takes her job seriously, is completely trustworthy and loyal, loves children and is easy to have in your home then Heather ticks all the boxes.

Heather was my sons nanny for a few months, and she was fantastic! My son got on so well with her and always looked forward to seeing her, and Heather was always friendly and helpful around the house. Couldn't ask for a better childcare provider! :)
