Outstanding highly experienced childminder

We came to Kathleen 18 months ago after struggling to get our boy settled into nursery. We didn’t want to ‘let him cry for longer’ which some nurseries suggested. What drew us to Kathleen was the outstanding rating and Kathleen’s experience in settling in children who struggled in a different setting. We haven’t looked back really, the experience couldn’t haven’t been more different. She took her time with him and gave him plenty of attention and he settled in within a week. My boy loves Kathleen and more so Richard and their children too.

Kathleen and Richard cook the children wholesome food, and she takes them out most days to playground, library, childcare or nursery rhyme.

We were really scarred by the nursery experience and the expectation of children to fit into the same mould. We are so happy to have found Kathleen and she will be in our son’s life for a while to come.

A lovely nurturing environment

Both my little ones go to Kathleen’s and have had an amazing experience. She and her husband Richard provide a home away from home in a calm, nurturing and engaging environment. They do lots of creative and learning activities and go out and about every day. The setting is spotless and the food nutritious. My little ones’ vocabulary has really develop and they have learned to play well with others and be empathetic. Kathleen also speaks French, Mandarin & Cantonese which is an amazing privilege for little kids to be exposed to should you wish for her to also speak to them in these languages. My eldest one will be moving on to school and Kathleen has prepped him very well for the transition. Kathleen and Richard and their kids are very kind and caring and I would recommend their setting to everyone.

Perfect in Every Way

Kathleen is second to none and gave my daughter the best start to her early years childcare and education. With her husband, Richard, she provides a calm, nurturing and safe environment where the children feel happy and loved.

Days at Kathleen's are highly engaging; the children attend a variety of playgroups and parks and the activities she runs at home are meaningful and steeped in learning. Always attentive and flexible, Kathleen would meet my daughter's mood and sleep needs on a day-to-day basis.

All meals are impressively homemade, varied and highly nutritious - every day is 5* restaurant experience!

Kathleen is knowledgeable, organised and professional - providing the most outstanding quality of childcare you could ask for.

Thank you for being the warm, fun-loving and patient carer to our little girl who adores and aspires to be like you!

Absolutely wonderful

We are sad to be saying goodbye to Kathleen and Richard as our daughter has been so happy and thrived in their care. We are moving out of London and one of my main worries is if we will find someone as good! Our daughter started here at 1 year old and settled quickly. I was a little anxious about it but Kathleen ensure everything went smoothly and it wasn’t stressful at all. Our daughter is happy to go there and leaves smiling, having eaten excellent homemade food and enjoyed a wealth of different activities. She has really come along in her development and routines since starting with Kathleen and we will all miss her very much.

Outstanding!

Two years ago we decided Kathleen to be our son’s (17 months old at the time) childminder and we are very happy with our decision. He is quite a sensitive child and Kathleen has been very patient with him, helping him to navigate through the different phases. She has been very helpful and has guided us through the settling period at the start and through other milestones along the way. We get daily reports and updates (written and verbal) about my son’s day, which we find very useful. We are confident that he is in the safe environment at Kathleen’s, where he learns something new every day. Highly recommended!

Fantastic, couldn’t ask for more!

Our little boy has been with Kathleen since he was around 15 months old and we have had such a brilliant experience. He settled so quickly and now really looks forward to going every day. She is firm but caring and kind with him and he always talks about all the lovely activists they do and the other children he plays with. He also had some food allergies when we first joined and she was so considerate, helping us slowly introduce things into his diet getting to where he is today. He now thoroughly enjoys all her homemade cooking! We couldn’t have asked for more.

Kind, Gentle and Firm

Kathleen has had my son for a year now since he was one and he happily skips over her threshold everyday. Kathleen is very organised and has multiple activities planned for the day. She cooks all the children's meals from scratch (Inc baking her own bread and scones) and she provides a variety of foods for the children to try. The icing on the cake is that my son has been fully immersed in French for this whole year, and although he doesn't speak any as yet he is able to follow all her instructions so the understanding is coming along. I would highly highly recommend this setting.

Amazing childminder

My 20 month old daughter has been with Kathleen since October 2021. What can I say that has not already been said in all the other reviews? Kathleen is an amazing childminder. She is really warm and friendly and always has time to tell you about the day and anything you need to know. What struck me about the first time I visited the setting was that it was really clean, organised and spacious with loads of lovely toys and equipment. I know that when I leave my daughter to go to work, I am leaving her in a home from home where she is happy, well-fed and well-cared for. I cannot recommend Kathleen highly enough.

Wonderful, caring and fun setting

Kathleen and her family are absolutely lovely! Their home is perfect for children with a beautiful garden and she took such great care of of our babies with our son there all day and our daughter collected from school every day for after school care. Both children couldn’t have been happier!
Kathleen always makes healthy and filling food and prepares interesting, creative, fun and seasonal activities. She takes them out every day and crucially she kept them safe, well & happy during quite a turbulent year or so.
She is so kind and nurturing, I only wish our children could’ve spent longer there!

An amazing childminder

Kathleen has been looking after our daughter since summer 2019, when she was just one. Matilda loves being with Kathleen - she not only has fun but feels safe and cared for, and learns so much from her time and interactions in Kathleen's care. We visited several nurseries and childminders before we found a place, but knew straight away her place was with Kathleen. She's flexible, provides an excellent space for learning and is very caring. My daughter now understands a lot of conversational French, and can say a few words and numbers - Kathleen has given her a foundation for languages, all whilst having fun and exploring the world. I am so glad we found Kathleen - if you have the opportunity to send your child to her then grab it while you can!
