My Summary
About Me
Hi!
I'm a 36 year old female looking for part-time work as a nanny or babysitter in East London/Redbridge. My mother tongue is English as I was raised in London but I come from a multi-cultural background and so also speak some Italian and a little Spanish and German.
I have a 6 yr old daughter and am currently seeking part-time employment caring for other lovely little ones!
I love spending time with kids; their energy and imagination amazes me! I'm really interested in their development and so always encourage stimulating activities which aid their learning when possible.
I have completed a CELTA (TEFL) course to teach English to speakers of other languages but have found that the skills and techniques I learnt can also be applied when assisting primary school aged children with their learning.
I am currently looking for a part-time nannying position (with possible occasional babysitting) that is close to home (South Woodford).
My Experience
I have 6 years experience of being a mum - which I think is the best experience there is for caring for children but prior to that I used to nanny for 3 children - two twin girls and their older brother, part-time, since their birth. They are now grown up teenagers and so I’m fortunate of having had the experience caring for children of all ages.
For a number of years my main employment has been in Universities as an administrator, however, I’ve also worked as a teaching assistant. This provided me with invaluable experience working with children from Nursery age to Year 4, including children with SEN. I now have a much better understanding of the current curriculum and feel very able to assist with homework or any extra learning that parents may like me to assist their children with.
I am confident caring for children of all ages, including newborn babies. I’ve been nannying for one family for 2.5 years now - since their daughter was 4 months old. In addition to that, since restarting nannying after having my daughter I’ve had numerous other nannying positions with children ranging from 8 months to 5 years, including a child with SEN. I have a lot of patience for the children, really encourage their learning and development as well as make an effort to make the time we spend together fun! My 6 yr old daughter can also come along at times/be involved, if it suits and fits in with the family I’m working for. I’ve been fortunate to have forged some great connections with families that I’ve worked with and I’m looking forward to continue doing so.
My Qualifications
I have 10 GCSEs including Maths, English and Science at grade A. I have 3 A-Levels and graduated from University with a 2.1 in LLB Law with International Politics.
Whilst at University I worked part-time as a mentor and received training for that.
I have an enhanced DBS check and a first aid certificate.
My Availability
I can be quite flexible with working hours, however, generally, depending on location, core hours should fall between 8 and 17:30 Monday - Friday. If there are exceptions to this occasionally I can try to accommodate. I’m looking for part-time work; ideally one day/week.
I would be happy to meet up with parents to discuss their requirements and see if I can be of assistance. I’d also be happy to answer any further questions, just send me a message!

Maryam has been looking after both my children for close to two years. She is brilliant with them and they both adore her. They have developed a very close bond with her. She is very trustworthy, reliable, and creates such a loving and warm environment for the kids. She always keeps me updated with messages and photos. She takes the children out for lots of fun activities which they love. She helps my son with developing his reading and writing. Maryam has been so wonderful, we’ve been very lucky to have her as a nanny and we’d highly recommend her.
