My Summary
About Me
Hey I'm Ella butterworth :)
Im a very caring, patient and easygoing, 34 year old Nanny who loves kids!
I’m currently living in Lichfield on a narrowboat.
I’m very bubbly, always smiling, and easy to get on with!
i have a very "can do" attitude, and think its important to teach children this too! I'm kind hearted, but also firm and consistent.
It is important to form a close bond with the child and parents.
i am consistently using my initiative and thinking up new ideas and activities to stimulate the children throughout the day. I plan a routine of appropriate fun activities and outings, including crafts, messy play, obstacle courses, construction, baking and Lots of outdoor play/walks!
I plan regular trips to toddler groups, play dates etc.
I plan our activities and days using the eyfs to cover all areas of a child’s development in mind.
I take photos of the children(withpermission)and email parents photos of what we are doing daily! we are never cooped up in the house for too long. I think it’s important for children to socialise with other children of all ages.
I believe that children learn through play but also from other children.
However I also think it is important for children, to get the one to one attention that sometimes they need!
My Experience
Experience:
I have experience caring for Children between 0 and 14 but mostly 0- 10 years. I have been a Qualified Nanny for about 15 years now and been Babysitting for 20.
I have also been volunteering/running a local toddler group, 1-2 days a week and worked as a nursery assistant for 7 months (however I preferred to be out and about with the children, rather than stuck in one room of a nursery setting).I have also worked alongside a couple of childminders very regularly.
I also have experience caring for young babies from a couple of weeks old.
I also have experience caring for 3 children of the same age at the same time (they were all only about 1 years old)
For 7 years I nannied for a lovely family, with 2 children till they were 7 and 4.
I started with the oldest when he was 6 months.
I have also worked for another family with children aged 6, 3 and 1.
I then nannied for twins from 3 months old for 11 months, as a short term contract. Which I really enjoyed! And kept me very busy!
For the past 8 years I have been nannying for a lovely family.
The family have 3 children 5,8 and 10
I started when their oldest child was 21/2 years old.
So have been there to watch them grow up from a very young age.
I originally cared for the eldest taking him to regular toddler groups to engage and socialise with others, singing sessions for his wonderful language and communicational skill, library trips, farms, and plenty of walks and adventures around local parks, museums and the countryside!
We also regularly had days in, to relax and get a little creative!
I provided lots of opportunities for at home in and out door play.
Including water play, football, books in the garden, den building, painting, drawing and box modelling.
I incorporate all 7 areas of children’s learning and development, and keep my eye on the “characteristics of learning” through play and activities, while continually making it fun and relevant for the children.
I then continued with similar activities for the second two children, based on their suitability and interests.
I cooked the children healthy meals, and batch cooked meals while little ones slept.
I washed and changed the children’s bedding once a week, and washed and dried all the children’s clothes.
I organised the children’s playroom regularly with and without them.
I think it’s a very good skill for children to be able to have an active role in “helping out and learning new skills “ as much as they feel able and willing too.
I took the children to their regular dentist check ups and kept up to date with all of their school plans and nursery trips etc.
I attended lots of school fairs, sports days and children’s award events.
It will be very sad to leave this family as I have played such a big part in their lives, while working 60 hours a week for them.
However due to the youngest going to school, I am no longer needed.
Over the past 20 years I have done many full and part time nannying jobs, which I have lots of wonderful references for.
Due to the fact I live on a narrowboat it means it’s quite easy for me to relocate closer for the right nanny family.
