My Experience
Assisting the teaching staff at a busy and exiting Primary School in Glasgow. Assisting the teacher in the management of pupils in the classroom. Providing general support and one-to-one assistance for pupils and helping the children in their studies and all areas of the national curriculum. Assisting in implementing Individual Education Programs for pupils. Helping children with their learning, playing and social development. Preparing class registers and accurately updating pupil records and producing accurate reports on request. Delivering educational programs and assessing their impact on pupils. Meeting parents at Parent Evening’s and updating them on a child’s progress. Monitoring a pupils performance throughout the year. Planning learning activities and school trips with teachers. Providing extra support to children with special needs or those who speak English as a second language.
Working for families with children as a nanny/babysitter. I was looking after children in their homes and work closely with the families and children to support the care and development of each child. My duties varied depending on the ages and needs of the children I cared for. When working with babies and very young children, I was responsible for dressing, feeding, changing nappies, comforting babies and playing with them, looking after their safety and hygiene. With older children, I was often responsible for encouraging and supporting them with important skills such as reading and writing, number work and play. I have planned and organized stimulating activities for children such as trips or park outings where they could play with other children. I have built a good relationship with the parents to meet the children's needs and interests and keep parents updated on each child's development.
