About Me
Hello my name is Veronica and I am an OFSTED registered childminder in Cosby. I have been a childminder for over 10 years and before registering as a childminder I worked in primary school education for 21 years. I have also been a local authority foster carer looking after newborn babies.
I have worked with children of all ages in a school setting and I have two grown up children of my own so I have experience of all stages of child development.
My house has plenty of space for children to play, create and have fun with a separate playroom and a large secure back garden. The needs and interests of all children are catered for and their progress is monitored, recorded and supported as required by OFSTED. I plan activities to cover all areas of the Early Years curriculum but believe strongly that the most important way of learning is through a child's own play, exploration and investigation.
I am located near the local park within a village community offering a variety of opportunities such as a library, toddler group and local ducks who love being fed!
I work Monday to Thursday.
My Experience
As a parent, teacher, childminder and foster carer I have experience and knowledge of caring for, teaching and supporting children of all ages from birth through to teenage years. I have recent experience of working with children with additional needs and children who have English as an additional language. As a childminder I have looked after children aged as young as 5 months right up to children attending school.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified primary school teacher and have taught across the age range of 3 years to 11 years old.
I hold a paediatric first aid certificate.
I have passed Food Hygiene level 2.
I have recent training in safeguarding (child protection).
I have completed a level 2 qualification in Mental Health in the Early Years.
