About Me
I am a qualified teacher and educator. I teach music, literacy and numeracy to primary children. I teach piano and can teach this either face to face or on zoom.
I can teach literacy out of school hours to your child in a relaxed setting using a combination of resources to engage your child. I use natural materials and experiences and parents are welcome to attend sessions.
Lessons can be taken indoors if the weather is bad. Please contact me for more information.
My Experience
I trained as a primary teacher in New Zealand in 2005. Since then I have taught in primary schools teaching literacy and have also worked as an outdoor educator teaching outdoor skills and bush craft to primary children.
I am a British Citizen. As well as being a qualified teacher I also have a graduate diploma in ecology and regularly volunteer in conservation projects.
My passion is to engage young people to learn through active learning and hands on experience. I have experience on outdoors learning and forest school approaches.
My Qualifications
Graduate Teaching Diploma in Primary Teaching gained from Victoria University Wellington ( New Zealand )
First Aid Certificate
Mental Health first aid training
I am also a trained musician so I teach piano to Grade 6 standard. I can also teach music theory for ABRSM Grade 5. I can enter children and adults for ABRSM exams.
