My Summary
Home Care That Helps Your Child Blossom
About Me
I provide a warm, welcoming home environment that helps each child thrive and nurtures their natural curiosity about the world around them.
I live just off Filton Avenue with my husband, 18yr old daughter (A Level student), and my 21yr old son (university student). (My 24yr old daughter has flown the nest and works as a teacher.) We have a very gentle and friendly cat called Clover. My home has a wide range of play resources and a small, secure garden. There is a good range of playgrounds close by and we also enjoy exploring the woods and fields of Stoke Park Estate, as well as play sessions at Filton Avenue children's centre and Boing soft play centre.

Both our daughters, now 2 and 4yrs old, have been with Amy for 4days a week since they were 11months old. It is hard to summarise in a few paragraphs just how wonderful Amy is and how much of a positive impact she has had on all of our lives.
Amy provides a calm, caring, creative and loving environment for the children she cares for which has allowed our children to thrive. Amy is so skilled, qualified and experienced in early years care and has such understanding, compassion and interest in all areas of children's development.
Her homely, loving environment has been wonderful and hugely beneficial for our children. They both feel so happy, secure and known in her care. When I go to work and leave my children with Amy I can do with complete confidence as I know that they are not just being looked after but are being truly nurtured.
Amy works closely with us to alter routines, encourage positive behaviours and increase our girls confidence. We enjoy reading about the events of their day in the daily updates, not only because they have such great experiences and adventures in her home/ the park/ the woods but also because in these communications it is clear that their little personalities and idiosyncrasies are known and nourished by Amy.
Being lucky enough to have Amy in our children's lives is truly a blessing. She provides so much more than childcare. I can wholeheartedly say that I couldn't be happier and couldn't recommend her more strongly. She is one of a kind and absolute excellence.
We first met Amy back in 2013 when we chose her to care for our first baby. She was the first childminder we visited and we knew instantly that we trusted her wholeheartedly to give our little girl the best experiences. It’s now 2022, and 2 more babies later and we are about to leave Amy’s care as our youngest will be starting school.
No words are really going to do justice to the amazing care, support and experiences Amy gives to the children she looks after. It’s a home from home, where children can thrive. My girls have made some beautiful friendships through the small groups Amy runs. The home from home and small groups have enabled our little ones to develop at a lovely pace, whilst getting social skills in larger groups from Amy also taking them to forest schools, play group mornings and other groups. It’s a fantastic balance.
Amy is meticulous and everything a shared regularly. We have never been in doubt of anything. We love reading their daily diary entry each evening. An area where Amy went above and beyond for us was with our second child who has additional needs. She treated her exactly as she would any child whilst seeking additional support and funding. Amy worked closely with external agencies and really helped with building a bank of evidence for support as she transitioned to school.
For us, Amy truly feels like one of the family and the thought of not visiting her daily does break our heart (in a moment of madness we considered having another baby just so we didn’t have to say goodbye just yet!!). We have 3 gorgeous girls and Amy has played a huge part in how beautifully they have turned out. We will forever be grateful.
We can not thank Amy enough and we certainly can not recommend her highly enough.
Our daughter has been with Amy since she was 7 months and is now 28 months. We're leaving Bristol and the worst thing about the whole thing is that she won't be able to be cared for by Amy anymore - she absolutely adores her and her lovely family!
Since day 1 we've been so impressed with Amy; she's kind-hearted, loving and nurturing to the end, but professional with it. She took on our expressed breast milk, dummy and napping only in the buggy challenges without any problem and her calm, kind way of working meant these didn't seem to present any issues.
The range of activities she does with the children is wonderful, our little girl's love of the outdoors has been encouraged at Forest School and all of the paintings and drawings she has been coming home with are lovely!
Our daughter is growing into such a kind, independent, empathetic little girl and so much of this comes from Amy and the care she has given to her.
All in all, we couldn't have wished for a better childminder. Amy has become like part of the family to our little one and we'll most definitely be back to visit her!
My daughter has been in Amy's care for two years now and she is wonderful! She provides such a calm and nurturing environment. The learning activities are so varied and high quality - we have been so pleased with how our daughter has progressed; moreover, she has always been very happy with Amy and has really enjoyed her time there. Amy is thoughtful and thorough - we have been very happy with the personalised care and feel very lucky to have found her!
I could tell within minutes of meeting Amy that she was the childminder for us! Calm and attentive with the children and full of feedback for us on what had happened in Finley's day.
We loved that everyday Amy filled out a little report on his play activity and learning experiences including photos and special observations. If there wasn't time to catch up I always knew I'd have this to look forward to later so that I didn't feel like I was missing out on my son's development. With our comments too it also now serves as a wonderful memory of 18 months of his life before we moved out of Bristol.
We have pictures of him painting enormous pictures along the garden shed, playing trucks in the sand box and enjoying treasure trove after treasure trove of baskets from her extremely well stocked toy collection, mostly made of wood or other good quality natural products.
We took inspiration too from Amy's amazing lunches - lamb tangine and rice, rosemary & lemon chicken with pesto pasta and all the usual favourites!
Over all though while the setting had everything we wanted, it was Amy herself that made it the caring, nurturing environment that a small child needs. I felt that she really understood my son and could see the tiny changes in him that only a parent would really notice. Best of all though was seeing Finley's reaction when I said we were going to Amy's house - jumping up and down in excitement and running to her front door everytime we arrived!
