About Me

My name is Katherine. I own & manage a professional childminding business called Cheeky Little Monkeys Childminding. I live in Long Preston with my husband, a fire fighter who also works with me as my 'assistant when needed' and 4 of our 5 children aged 8,12,14,16 & 29 years!!
About My Setting
My setting is situated on Station Rd, a convenient location for working parents who are commuting to Leeds, Settle & Skipton by car or train.
Whilst my assistants and myself childmind from the ground floor of my home, we have dedicated a playroom to the mindees which, we resource daily with items that follow our topics, seasons and celebrations or by taking into account the children's current interests, needs and wants.
The children have access to a safe, fully walled lawned garden within which they are allowed to free flow and play outside whenever and whatever the weather.
We are very much into current practice/ideologies and we aim to have, as much as possible, a natural setting which limits the use of plastic toys in favour of more natural open ended resources/materials which inspire and enthuse children. After all we all know just how much the expensive toys cardboard box is loved far more than the actual toy!
We enjoy the great outdoors and we like nothing more than taking the children on trips/days out climbing trees, catching bugs, enjoying a picnic -the simple pleasures.
During a typical day we may provide a daily fun indoor/outdoor activity which is tailored to the age of the children, a more structured one to one table top activity -preparation for school and a daily local outing to soft play, playgroups, woods, river etc. Unlike nursery settings my mindees are not separated into age related rooms so siblings and older children can play and learn together.
My Experience
I have worked as an Ofsted Registered Childminder since 2003. Prior to becoming a childminder I worked as a Foster Carer, a classroom assistant and Nursery Nurse within schools in the Bradford/Leeds area. I worked extremely hard whilst raising my first child as a single parent to gain a degree in Psychology & counselling In Community Settings which can come in very handy!
In all I have 28 years experience of working with young children from birth to 12 and plenty of mummy experience as I have 5 beautiful children of my own.
My Qualifications

I have all the required childminding qualifications/training as well as a BTEC Nursery Nursing Certificate 1998 but, more importantly I am an experienced mum.
I hold an enhanced DBS & I have been checked and approved to care for children through Ofsted. I have current first aid qualifications, a food hygiene certificate and I am fully aware of the need to safeguard children.
I have excellent references. The parents of the children I currently look after are more than happy to offer a verbal telephone recommendation.
This, I hope will give you the parent the peace of mind that I will care for your child in a safe, nurturing and happy environment where each individual child can reach their full potential.
My Availability
Cheeky Little Monkeys Childminding is open for friendly, knowledgeable and reliable childcare in a warm homely environment Monday to Friday. We offer full year or term time only contracts. We can also follow shift worker patterns.Short notice or emergency childcare can be offered if needed.
We are able to collect children from Long Preston Primary and welcome older children who independently travel home from upper school who maybe just alittle too young to go home to an empty house.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
My fees include breakfast, homemade 2 course lunch and all snacks & drinks.
I accept all work based childcare vouchers, Government Tax Free payments and Nursery Education Funding which can entitle children to subsidised childcare of 15 to 30 hours per week.

The perfect home from home setting but with routine and structure to help with your child's development. My son loved arriving at cheeky little monkeys in the mornings sometimes he didn't even manage to give me a goodbye kiss. I felt so confident leaving my child with Cath and her staff from day one.
I can't recommend CLMC enough.

The best of all! Whole setting is fabulous as well as staff! I had both my boys in Little Cheeky Monkeys and I'm highly impressed with there effort and knowledge. I feel sorry that my boys needed to go to school. They are as well and often ask for Kath :) I wouldn't ever imagine better childminder! Thank you so much :D

Karherine is a excellent childminder and has a lovely setting with plenty of choices when it comes to toys anf books for the children. The children go to lots of playgroups and are always kept busy wit activities. My child always comes home happy and loves giong to kaths. Would recommend to anyone who wants their child well looked after and loved.

Katherine & her assistants do a fantasic job .They have activites planned every day such as toddler groups or trips out.
My son has been there for just over a year,hes made lots of friends and loves going.
A real home from home atmosphere with a personal touch,unlike many nurserys i feel like my son gets a lot of personal attention and care.
