About Me
Hi all, firstly thank you for taking a look at my childcare profile. My name is Angela Pickup, I became a ofsted registered childminder in March 2008, I’m located in the WF1 area of Wakefield.
I live with my husband Jason Pickup, our son Brandon and daughter Millie, with our little Frenchie - Cookie.
My hobby is going to the gym(if I aren’t babysitting my grandchildren?)
Me and my family take good pride in our health which I like to learn the children the importance of too, for example we get out in the fresh air a lot for nice walks, exploring nature, parks, farms, zoo’s, beach days, soft play areas and playgroups. I also provide homemade healthy balanced meals within my setting which is included in the children’s care.
I offer the 2/3/4 year old government funding for 15/30 hours.
If you haven’t heard of this funding or are unsure weather you’re eligible please contact me and i will happily help where possible.
I can provide references from parents/carers that children are still in my care or ones that have moved on through the years.

My Experience
I have over 12 years experience being a self employed childminder, I have gone from childminding in my home to now having a outbuild which my husband built in our garden which is great and the children love it!
I also have previous experience as a teaching assistant in a special educational needs school.
I have 5 children of my own who’s ages now range from 15 years to 29 years old who have given me 5 beautiful grandchildren. With this said I know first hand how daunting it can be to choose a childcare provider for your child, from building trust with me and my family to and feeling comfortable with us and knowing that your child is happy. It’s my priority to help settle your child into my setting at there own pace as well as reassuring you as there parent/carers, I know it can sometimes be more nerve-racking for you rather than your little one!
My Qualifications
I am Ofsted registered childminder with a clear DBS, as well as all relevant qualifications that is required of me. For example - safeguarding, first aid and food hygiene. All certificates are displayed in my setting for you to take a look at. I attend regular training courses and webinars to further my knowledge.
I am trained to deliver the EYFS to children from birth to five years, with a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare.
My Availability
I have spaces available for part time, full time, school and home collection / pickup. I care for children from 0-10 years of all abilities, backgrounds and nationality?
I will try my best to accommodate your family needs.

My fees vary depending on what your family requires, this can be discussed with myself.

Angie has settled our 9 months old son in wonderfully! I felt THAT comfortable leaving him with Angie & Jay that I didn't cry the first time! I'm comforted in knowing they love outdoors, have plenty of fun things to do, & love fresh food & messy play. I couldn't ask for better whilst we are at work! I would recommend Angie 10000%!!

My daughter first started going to Angie's when she turned 1, although she struggled to settle in at first (as she had rarely spent any time away from me) and i struggled with leaving her Angie would keep me updated with messages and photos and constantly reasurred me. Once my little girl settled in she loved going and i felt confident leaving her. My daughter came on so much while there, with walking, talking and potty training, she also started eating healthier meals which she previously wouldnt entertain at home, she also became a lot more confident with physical activities.
All the children play lovely together and its a really nice family environment with the nursery and a nice garden to play in.
I would definately reccommend Angie and the rest of the staff

My children have been attending Angies since January 2019 and actually it feels like they are part of the family! The friendships between the whole family and my children are amazing and i couldnt ask for anything better! Angie has been so helpful and supportive with potty training, settling the kids in to new routines and has always provided a safe happy environment for my kids who absolutely love it there! Cookie the frenchie is a firm favourite with my little girl!
My son has a few health conditions including a severe egg allergy and asthma and has been looked after so well that he has never had any issues while in her care and it means such a lot to me as a parent to know my children are in safe hands when i am not around. I honestly could not recommend her enough and dread the day my kids leave as she genuinely has welcomed them into her family!

Home-Home Environment given to the children, always new adventures for them to experience, happy to help with anything Eg potty training, weaning off dummys etc. They always go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. Children are always fed well with a balanced diet homemade meals! Couldn’t recommend anyone better:-)

Both my children have been to angie, and they have both absolutely loved it! They were amazing with helping with my 1st with things such as potty training and weaning her off the dummy and bottle. With my second they were very understanding with how he doesn't like sudden change also he was very wary around new people so they offered me the chance to gradually introduce him bit by bit and it really worked out really well because he is now fully settled in and is much more confident around people especially with making friends😊
