About Me
I set up Little Explorers Childminding service after the birth of my son who was born in 2011. I operate from my family home and aim to create a safe, welcoming environment for the children and families who use my service.
I received a 'GOOD' outcome from my Ofsted inspection.
I have completed my seventh year of the Bristol Standards Quality Assurance scheme and I am accredited to receive the funding for the free entitlement places for 2,3 and 4 year old's.
I am a qualified Forest School Lead practitioner (level 3) and often incorporate forest school sessions with my setting.
I currently employ assistants who are experienced and qualified early years practitioners and one is also a registered childminder.
My Experience
I have worked in early years settings for over 15 years, 8 of which as a childminder. I continuously update my professional development and have now completed a Masters degree in Early Years through the University of Gloucestershire.
I am competent in planning a wide variety of activities and experiences based on the individual children's needs according to their age and stage of development. I have experience of risk assessing activities, outings and my home environment to ensure that I provide a safe environment for children.
I have worked with a variety of children with different needs including - autistic children, diabetic children, English as an additional language.
We use an online system to monitor the children's progress and keep parents informed which was includes, daily diaries, learning journeys, learning plans, assessments etc.

Ba(hons) Education and Early Childhood studies (level 6, 2006)
Forest School Lead Practitioner (level 3, 2014)
CYPOP5 Understanding how to set up as a home based childcare service (level 3, 2012)
Forest school and Pediatric first aid (level 3)
Safeguarding and Child protection
Pre-school letters and sounds
Food Hygiene (level 2)
I also attend regular short courses run by the Early Years Childhood Team which run throughout the year.
