Excellent childminder

Laura has been providing after school care for my daughter and son over the past 6 years and I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a fantastic home from home for our children. I have only praise for Laura’s commitment to offering a warm and caring environment, and the children have consistently shown they feel happy and safe in her care. She is always professional, recognising the individual requirements of the children and making sure they all have an opportunity to flourish. Laura has really helped support my daughter in particular, encouraging her development from a shy and quiet child to a confident young lady by creating a nurturing and friendly environment in which she has felt safe and comfortable to come out of her shell.
Both my children have really enjoyed how Laura gets involved and gives them her full attention, whether it’s with fantastic arts and crafts, board games to help support their learning, or having the opportunity to play in the lovely garden and with her dog Poppy who the children adore.
I have never once questioned my choice in Laura and would whole heartedly recommend her as an absolutely superb childminder.

Update to my last review above another 2.5 years

Laura has been looking after my son since he was 9 months old (he is nearly 5 now). To put it mildly, Laura is an amazing childminder.

What makes Laura an amazing childminder is her energy, the brilliant fun she makes, her cuddles for the children in her care, her adherence to the Early Years Foundation framework, her ability to keep calm during tantrums (I've taken notes!), her flexibility, the fun but educational environment she has made at home, the places she takes the children, the EYFS courses she voluntarily attends, the comprehensive feedback given on a daily basis, the scrummy but healthy meals she makes, the spectacular scrapbooks of my son's every day and milestone adventures with her and her treatment of the children in her care as though they were hers.

In a nutshell, my son adores Laura and I couldn't ask for more.

I work full time so the absolute, unfaltering assurance Laura gives me that my son is being cared for in the best way possible is wonderful. I cannot thank Laura enough for that.

I would recommend Laura in a heartbeat.

Fabulous Childminder

We decided to send our little girl to a childminder when she was 12 months old and we are so lucky that we found Laura. She has been amazing! She was extremely helpful and accommodating with the settling period, which can obviously be very unnerving for both parent and child and before the settling in period had finished we could see that our little girl had completely taken to Laura. As well as enjoying being around Laura’s own children and the other children she has in her care. She has been extremely flexible in accommodating our requirements which have had to change over the time.
Laura has provided a very stable environment with an abundance of variety for each day. She has a range of activities, games, toys and learning resources that she changes on a daily basis to suit the children, their needs and their age. The play room is beautifully equipped for the children to access a range of things, including books, cuddly toys and construction and the children have plenty of space, both indoors and out, for them to play and learn safely. She attends a variety of toddler or playgroups and ensures that the children play with the equipment and each other carefully, encouraging tolerance, patience and kindness towards one another.
Laura has often provided invaluable suggestions regarding food, sleeping and even behaviour and as first time parents it has felt like we have had a friend to talk to about these confusing and difficult times. We are so grateful for finding Laura and are quite sad that we have to leave her.
Hope to use her services in the future!

Laura is fantastic

My little boy has been cared for by Laura 5 days a week since he was 9 months old (I had to work full time) - he is now 2 and a half and is still cared for by Laura and that really does prove how much he loves it there and how happy we are, as parents to have him there. Laura is just amazing with kids...attentive, knowledgeable (I'm always asking for tips on things as her 2 boys are really lovely), fun, playful, loving (plenty of cuddles) energetic, not afraid of singing, always looking out for great things for them to do and tracking down classes/new parks/activities, etc. - this and plenty of learning, too, all tailored to their age. Laura will also heed anything you wish to advise such as change in sleep patterns or fave food. The environment Laura looks after the kids in is also brilliant - plenty of room, plenty of toys/books/educational material - and the toys available are changed regularly such as a dinosaur table one day and tractors on a farm the next and will usually relate to a theme for the day. Laura sends a full week's activity list on a Sunday evening along with a full and well researched menu for the week ahead - and my son loves it there so much that he sometimes asks to 'go to Laura's house' at a weekend! I can go to work assured that he's in the best possible care. Oh, and at the end of each day, Laura emails a comprehensive summary of my son's activities during the day, things to note, actions observed - Laura really takes notice of all new things my son is picking up on and the regular reviews are extra reassurance of a super caring environment. My son loves going there every morning and I couldn't recommend Laura more..she's an absolute star.
