About Me
Hi, I am Ofsted registered childminder in Bedford. My name is Karra, I am 43 years old and a married mother of three. My eldest son is 12 years old, my daughter is 9 years old and my youngest son is 6 years old.
We live in a fully enclosed and secure four bedroom semi detached home in Putnoe, close to several schools, preschools and nurseries.
We have a large open plan space with lots of toys and facilities for children of all ages and stages of development. The room opens out onto a large patio area and lawn. We enjoy planting and growing a wide range of vegetables in our raised vegetable plots. We have also recently built a large wooden cabin/playhouse in the garden for the children to use and to store the garden toys.
We also enjoy visiting the nearby shops, library, parks and several local playgroups and sessions. We occasionally visit farms and soft play venues.
I am an honest, caring and friendly person who will seek to work with you to meet your child's requirements. I am always fair and consistent in my approach in managing children's needs.
My Experience
I have over 12 years childcare experience and have three children of my own. Prior to childminding I carried out adhoc babysitting and nannying for various families.
I have been a registered childminder since October 2014 and received a good Ofsted report in September 2016. I have also undertaken several childcare related courses and I have a level 3 diploma in Early Years.

My hours are 08.00-16.00 Tuesday to Friday term time only.
Other hours/days may be possible, please discuss your individual requirements.

My son went to Karras for 2 years, she had a very relaxed environment and lots of things to do! And things he came home with 🙂 Karra was always very welcoming and happy to see us.
Many people I know have used Karra as a childminder so highly recommended.
My son was ready to move on to a bigger environment and new setting to give him new experiences, skills and growth.
As feedback I would recommend for Karra to use an app to create profiles and upload information about each child, eg feeding diary or photos etc to keep parent's informed on a daily basis.

Our son was cared for by Karra 4 days a week for 2 years and we (him included) couldn’t have been happier. After only a short period of time he was fully settled to the point he would be asking in the morning to go to Karra’s house, walking in without looking back at drop off. Often out on adventures or doing a wide range of activities in the house, we were always updated with what they had been up to each day with plenty of photos provided so we could see how much he was enjoying himself. He developed so much through this time, thanks to the wonderful environment that Karra has created. Having now started pre-school, he still asks to go to Karra’s house! If you are looking for somewhere to send your child we would highly recommend Karra's Caterpillars!.

My son went to Karra for 2.5 years from when he was one year old. She provides a safe, calm, nurturing setting with lots of activities. A good balance between outings and home play. Couldn't think of a nicer environment.

My son has just finished with Karra after spending 9 months with her. He has learnt so much from her and was always happy to go. This was his first setting, it started in the pandemic, restrictions were in place, meaning I was not able to see the setting, Karra made me feel much at ease about everything and answered all my questions before we started. He will miss her and her lovely cuddles. Thank you so much 🙂

I just think Karra is great. She parents just the way I hope to myself (and don't always manage). She has just the right balance of really nurturing the children and being firm and clear. She always seems so on top of it.
My daughter really enjoyed coming to Karra's. She's got a nice set up for childminding too with toys and garden.
